Clove's P.O.V
"Clove." Bear says quietly. Bear is my little brother, he's 11. I slowly wake up and glance over at him, his is eyes are filled with tears. I quickly sit up in my bed and lean over to hug him.
"It's okay, it's okay." I say calmly, stroking his head. I know he is terrified from the tears in his eyes. Our parents had both died in previous Games, so we live with our aunt, Gleam. I tell Bear to get dressed for the reaping and put on my nicest dress.
At the time of the Reaping, we start heading to the town square.
"Clove." Comes from a familiar voice. I turn around and see Cato. He turns to Bear and reaches for a high five. Cato and I have been best friends ever since my parents died.
"Cato," I say as I nod my head and smile.
"You always seem to make me smile even on the days where I know that I could die." I finish.
He smiles pitifully at me, my dark sarcasm can be too real sometimes.
