Regina stared down at the blonde who was still sound asleep in her arms. The woman couldn't help but admire her. Emma was so different from everyone else. She didn't jump to conclusions with her, same with Zelena, the blonde got to know them and let herself decide before throwing around the labels the sisters have been stuck with most of their lives, "I guess that's what drew me to her in the first place. That first day in class, she acted so different to others. The blonde was a challenge and I loved it" the brunette thought to herself.
Regina slowly ran her fingers through the girl's thick, blonde hair trying to be careful not to wake the sleeping beauty.
The brunette shifted slightly and clicked open the Emma's phone to check the time since it was closer to her than her own was; 10.30 am. They haven't been asleep that long.
The woman also saw a text from Zelena but ignored it and set it back down on my bedside table, "it isn't my place to pry into the conversations she has with my sister or any one of her friends for that matter. The things she talked about with others were between her and the other person and I completely respect her privacy" the woman confirmed internally.
Regina heard a soft knock on my door and watched carefully as it opened.
She looked up to see her redhead sister standing in the doorway, "speak of the devil" she thought with a soft chuckle.
Zelena shot her sister a small smile, "she asleep?" Zelena whispered.
The brunette nodded slowly, "yeah" she mumbled.
Zelena let out a soft sigh of relief, "good, she needed it" she commented.
"So Zelena noticed it too? She probably noticed it long before I did. I hate to think that she is closer to Emma than I am, but Emma has quickly become her best friend, whereas we've only really been 'together' for a week now." Regina thought, slightly annoyed at herself for not seeing it sooner.
Regina nodded slowly in agreement, "how long have you been home?" She questioned curiously.
Her redhead sister shrugged, "about a half hour, I think" she responded with a small shrug, "I also took the liberty of texting Mary Margaret to let her know that Em will be over here for a while" she added in quickly with a kind smile.
The brunette nodded along slowly.
The older woman shot the girl a kind smile, "thank you, Z" she said softly.
The redhead simply nodded in response. Regina watched as the younger girl's lips curled into a small, mischievous smirk, "when Emma wakes up get her to check her messages" she told the woman.
Regina's eyes narrowed on her little sister, "Zelena, what did you do?" She practically hissed through her teeth.
Zelena giggled, "nothing" she squeaked before shooting the brunette a playful wink and skipped out of the room closing the door behind her.
The woman let out a sigh, "trust Zelena" she grumbled.
Emma began to squirm from beside her, "hey, Baby, go back to sleep" the brunette cooed softly as she started to rub the blonde's back gently.
Regina watched as her eyes slowly fluttered open, "sorry for waking you, Baby" the older woman whispered as she placed a small kiss on the eighteen-year-old's forehead.
Emma shook her head, "it's okay, Gina" she mumbled.
"I really like the little nickname that she has taken to calling me. It was much more soft and innocent than 'Reggie'." The woman thought to herself.
The brunette sighed, she could tell that the young blonde was still extremely tired.
Emma reached over and grabbed her phone off the bedside table, "I need to text Mary Margaret" she mumbled sleepily.
Regina shook her head, "don't worry, Zelena has already texted her" she told the younger woman gently as she rubbed the blonde's back.
Emma opened her phone and her eyes widened slightly. The brunette raised an eyebrow curiously. The younger woman soon turned the screen towards her girlfriend and Regina chuckled, "so this is what Zelena was up to" she confirmed.
On the screen was a picture of the couple, fast asleep, wound and curled in each other's arms.
Regina couldn't help but smile at the photo, "you'll have to send that to me" she whispered before placing a light kiss on the girl's temple.
The blonde nodded, and the soft 'ping' of Regina's phone soon echoed through the room.
Emma placed her phone back on the nightstand once again and resumed her earlier place on her girlfriend's chest.
Regina trailed her fingers through her blonde hair, "go back to sleep, Baby" she whispered softly.
The use of the pet-name was almost like second nature now. The older would use others as well, but 'Baby' was the one she used the most.
The blonde nodded briefly, and her breathing began to slow to a soft, steady pace. She was out within seconds. The brunette smiled and placed a soft kiss on her forehead before quickly drifting off herself.
Regina lay awake just watching her girlfriend sleep. She's been doing that for about an hour now. It was inching towards 2 pm, and the brunette didn't have the heart to wake the sleeping blonde. She looked so peaceful and this is probably the most she's slept in a while.
"The young woman is so beautiful when she's asleep" Regina thought, "she is always stunning but whenever she's asleep there's something about her that is different. She seems more innocent, much more vulnerable" the woman confirmed.
Regina sighed, "I'm scared of losing you the most" the girl's words from earlier that morning rang in her head, "was that her way of trying to tell me something? Perhaps I'm just reading far too much into the situation" the woman quickly shook the thought from her mind.
The woman heard her door open but ignored it, naturally assuming it was Zelena who wanted something. The brunette heard a soft gasp and turned around.
Regina bit her lower lip as her eyes met the stern set of brown eyes in front of her.
The woman gulped, "mother" she gasped out.
