It was the period before lunch on a Monday afternoon and Emma was sitting in English. Miss Mills was talking about one of the scenes in Lord of the Flies when the boys were all being idiots and not thinking before killing a pig that was feeding her piglets and how they were basically killing off their source of food because if the pigs aren't old enough to be parted from their mothers care then they wouldn't be able to fend for themselves in the wild and eventually die off.

The blonde could practically hear the groans and moans of annoyance and boredom within the room, yet nobody made a sound. All of them too afraid as to what Miss Mills could do to them if they did.

Emma wasn't exactly listening either, but this was stuff that she knew already so she assumed she would be fine.

The girl's mind wandered to what happened on Saturday night. The blonde was happy about her new, blossoming friendship with Zelena, but she knew that it probably wouldn't go down well with Ruby.

Emma sat there for a moment with Zelena when she heard her sigh, "I'm dreading Monday, the whole town probably knows what happened yesterday at the rate news gets spread around this town" the redhead muttered.

It was a small town where everyone knows everyone, and gossip travels very fast, it was clear as to why she was concerned.

The blonde shot her a reassuring smile, "don't worry, you can stay with me" she told her.

Zelena forced a smile before shaking her head, "thanks for the offer, Swan, but I don't think your friends will be too happy about that" she muttered.

Emma quickly remembered what Mary Margaret had told her before she left the apartment about Ruby not liking Zelena.

The young blonde let out a small sigh, "why does Ruby not like you?" She asked hesitantly.

Zelena looked up at the new girl and let out a small sigh, "I'm basically the reason her and Kathryn aren't friends anymore" she told her honestly.

Emma raised my eyebrow in confusion. She had always thought that Kathryn just tossed Ruby away, the blonde knew that they must have been close since it clearly affected her, but she didn't think it was because of someone else.

Zelena frowned, "Kathryn and Ruby were best friends, they were inseparable, they were basically raised together. As Kathryn got a sniff of popularity she knew that people wouldn't like her if she was caught hanging out with 'the weird wolf girl' so she basically shut her out and went to me 'daughter of the Mayor' to try and heighten her popularity further even though everyone hated me and to try and get out of things when it came to teachers because of my mother. When Regina then became a teacher it just made things easier for her to bend" she explained carefully.

The blonde didn't know how to respond to what Zelena had just told her, "people only liked me because out of everyone that Kathryn could have 'chosen' that it was me. People would always try to befriend me just to get close to Kathryn. Now that Kathryn basically rules the school it's clear that she doesn't need me anymore so off I go just like everyone else that Kathryn has used to get what she wants" She finished.

Emma sat there for a moment trying to take it all in. She noticed a small tear run down the redhead's cheek.

The laid her hand on hers and shot the younger girl a reassuring smile, "everything will be fine, Zelena, I'm not going to let Kathryn have the satisfaction of seeing you suffer" Emma told her confidently.

Zelena forced a smile, "even if it risks your friendship with Ruby?" she questioned.

The blonde sighed slowly before shrugging, "Ruby's just gonna have to suck it up" she told the redhead as she laughed slightly.

When the bell rang signaling that it was time for lunch everyone basically let out a cheer of relief before quickly packing up and making their way out the door as quick as they could as per usual.

Emma quickly packed up her stuff at a normal pace compared to everyone else who just grabbed their stuff and ran, "Emma" she heard Miss Mills say gently.

The blonde stood up from her desk as she hooked her bag over her shoulder, "yeah?" The girl responded.

The teacher let out a soft sigh as Emma watched her lean against the front of her desk. The blonde watched the older woman carefully as she tried to find the words to say.

Regina looked as if she was about to say nothing and send the girl off when she finally spoke, "I never got to talk to you before you left on Saturday" she said quickly.

Emma nodded slowly, slightly confused at the situation. I didn't quite understand why she wanted to talk to me, she said goodbye to me as I was leaving I'm sure if she wanted.

She sighed, "I wanted to apologize for my comment and for what I did on Friday night" she mumbled softly.

Emma shrugged, "it's fine, Miss Mills," she told the older woman.

The brunette sighed and shook her head, "no, Emma, it's not. It was stupid and inappropriate on my end and I shouldn't have..." The blonde cut her off as she gently took hold of her hand.

The young girl looked into her cocoa eyes and Regina stared back at her in surprise, "really, Regina, it's fine" she reassured her gently.

Regina's gaze softened as her hand slowly wound around the girl's. Her eyes flickered from the blonde's sea-green eyes to her lips and back up again. Emma watched as her teeth graze her bottom lip gently as the older woman bit her lip.

The brunette leaned in and quickly captured the girl's lips in hers.
