Chapter 12

Emma woke up pressed against something warm. The blonde felt someone's arm wrapped firmly around her waist holding her close. The girl inhaled, taking in the familiar scent of apples.

Emma opened her eyes slightly to see that she was on the sofa with Regina holding her tight against her, keeping the girl from falling off. The young blonde was basically lying on top of the older woman with the way they were positioned.

The eighteen-year-old couldn't help but smile and cuddle further into the crook of her neck.

Regina let out a throaty chuckle, "good morning, dear" she mumbled in a husky voice.

The blonde bit her bottom lip, "damn, your morning voice" she grumbled causing the brunette to laugh and roll her eyes slightly.

Emma smiled, "how come we're down here? On the couch?" She questioned.

Regina smiled, "you fell asleep cuddled against me towards the end of the movie and I didn't have the heart to move you" she told the girl honestly.

The blonde smiled taking in everything that happened last night.

The girl let out a soft sigh, "everything okay, Emma?" The older woman asked gently.

Emma bit her lower lip nervously, "can we talk?" She asked in a soft, hesitant whisper.

Regina looked at the young woman in front of her with gentle, caring eyes, "you want to talk about what happened last night, don't you?" she asked, her eyes met Emma's sea-green ones and the blonde nodded. 

The pair sat up, but Regina held the blonde so that she was sitting on her lap, which, Emma found quite funny since the older woman is smaller than her.

Regina frowned and tucked a loose strand of Emma's messy, blonde hair behind the girl's ear, "I'm not going to push you away like I did the last time. Blocking you out was the worst decision I have ever made in my entire life, and trust me, I've made a lot of bad decisions" she told the girl confidently.

Emma watched the brunette carefully, "the first time... This happened" she continued motioning between them before continuing, "I was afraid. You should have been too. But after last night, after that kiss, after everything. I don't care anymore" Regina confessed taking the blonde's hand in her own.

The girl gave her hand a gentle, reassuring squeeze, "I care so deeply for you Emma, words can't even explain it" the older woman finished.

Emma couldn't respond to what she had just told her. The eighteen-year-old sat there for a moment in complete awe, it was like she was in some form of trance.

Regina giggled softly, the sound like music to Emma's ears, "lost for words, Miss Swan?" She asked as she shot her a wink.

The blonde chuckled, "I wasn't expecting that" she mumbled, breaking eye-contact with the brunette and stared down at her lap.

Regina sighed as she tucked her finger under the girl's chin and brought her eyes back up to meet hers, "what were you expecting?" The woman teased raising a perfectly-shaped eyebrow.

Emma chuckled nervously, "I don't know. I guess I expected you to tell me that what happened could never happen again." She mumbled with a frown, "I really like you Regina and I don't think I would have been able to take you blocking me out again" she told the older woman honestly.

Regina snaked her arms around the blonde's waist and pulled her closer.

Emma practically melted into her touch, "never again, Emma. I can promise you that" the brunette concluded in a slightly determined tone.

The blonde bit her lower lip ,"can I kiss you again?" The young girl asked nervously.

Regina laughed softly and threaded her fingers through the girl's blonde mane, "you don't need to ask, Emma, not anymore" she mumbled as she gently tugged Emma's head forward and brought the blonde's lips to hers.

Emma smiled into the kiss and quickly returned it. The eighteen-year-old's lips moved with hers perfectly. Regina gently grazed the girl's bottom lip with her teeth causing Emma to let out a soft moan, the brunette chuckled slightly at the sound. 

The pair heard the loud thumping of feet coming down the stairs and they quickly jumped apart.

Ruby and Zelena made their way into the room with dorky smiles across their faces, "I see you two are awake" Zelena joked.

Emma faked a laugh and rolled her eyes, "ha, ha, very funny" she mocked.

Regina laughed, "so, what do you all have planned for today" she asked looking specifically at Zelena.

The blonde stared up at the two girl's, "yeah, what are the plans for today? I know it's Granny's tonight but you two have been whispering between yourselves, so what's up?" She muttered.

Ruby and Zelena laughed, "keep your hair on, Swanny. Trust me, you'll love it" Ruby said shooting her friend a wink.

Emma rolled her eyes, "okay, whatever, have your secrets" she snapped playfully causing everyone to laugh.

Zelena smiled, " speaking of, Reggie, we need your opinion on something" she rambled.

The blonde made eye-contact with the older woman for a brief moment before she turned back to her sister, "okay" she responded with a smirk.

Emma let out a soft, playful groan, "Jesus Christ, how come everyone gets to know what you guys are doing but me?" She grumbled in annoyance.

Ruby laughed, "cause it's a surprise, but don't worry, my friend. You won't have to wait much longer" the brunette reassured her with a smile.
