Chapter 33

Emma groaned as her phone rang out from beside her. She reached out and grabbed it, silencing the alarm. She curled into a ball, "Monday already." She muttered to herself.

Her phone buzzed softly against her chest. Emma looked to see a text from Regina: 'Good Morning Darling. I know you're just awake, but do you want a ride to school today? I'm taking Zelena because she's lazy x'

Emma couldn't help but smile and quickly text her back: 'Yes please. Thank you, Gina. See you soon x'

The blonde, finding the motivation crawled out of bed and headed to the bathroom to shower.

"What has you ready so swiftly?" David asked, motioning to the clock that had just hit 8am.

Emma smiled, "Regina will be here in a minute. She's giving me a ride to school with her and Zelena." She explained.

Emma's phone buzzed alerting her that they had arrived. She smiled, "see you later, dad." She said giving the man a quick hug before scurrying out the door.

Regina was parked just outside the apartment building. Emma couldn't see anyone in the passenger seat, so she quickly climbed in.

Emma smiled as she turned to face the brunette who quickly took her hand in her own and placed a sweet kiss to her knuckles, "morning, Baby." She whispered.

"Morning, Gina." The blonde responded with a smile.

"Aren't we all thankful I sat in the back?" Zelena piped up sticking her head between the two chairs, "letting you guys sit together, being all cute?"

Emma laughed, "dork." She snapped and Zelena let out a laugh, "I'm just saying, Em. Clearly I'm be best." She added flipping her hair to the side.

When they pulled up to the school the three women got out. Emma went to the drivers side and entwined her fingers with Regina's, a smile spread across her face.

"I'll see you later." Emma mumbled.

Regina smiled and with her free hand tucked a strand of Emma's wavy blonde hair behind her ear, "you're eating lunch with me today, right?" She asked.

Emma nodded quickly. The brunette pressed a sweet kiss to the girl's forehead, "see you later, Baby." She whispered.

Emma sat in English after a good lunch spent with Regina. They spent their time bickering playfully, from a respectable distance per Emma's request.

The class were sitting doing a timed essay on their set poetry when there was a knock on the door grasping their attention. They all looked up to see Principle Hopper standing in the doorway. He gave everyone a kind smile before turning to Regina, "Miss Mills, can I speak to you for a moment?" He asked.

Emma felt her stomach twist as Regina got to her feet, "Of course, Dr Hopper." She responded, "just leave your essays on my desk when you're done." She told the class. The brunette caught Emma's eye, shooting her a small, reassuring smile before following Dr Hopper out of the room.

Everyone immediately turned and started talking amongst themselves, but Emma's mind was spinning so fast she couldn't hear what anyone was saying.

Regina followed Dr Hopper to his office. She stepped inside and closed the door behind her. Her eyes widened at the sight of the brunette standing next to Hopper's desk.

"Mother? What are you doing here?" She questioned.

The Mayor sighed, "Principle Hopper called me here hoping I could help him. I told you to be careful, Regina." She snapped.
