Emma looked up as everyone started filing out of English the next door to go for lunch.

The blonde watched the brunette as she dug around in her bag for the salad she usually ate for her lunch.

Things have been quiet since the night before when she told them to go through with Zelena's plan to pretend that they were a couple.

Emma sighed, "we don't have to if you don't want to" the blonde commented breaking through the thick silence that was lingering in the room.

Regina frowned as she looked up to make eye-contact with her girlfriend, "Zelena has a good point, we have to be more careful. The second Kathryn gets another whiff, we're done for" she explained.

The younger woman nodded as she got to her feet and crossed to the teacher's desk, "still, I feel bad" she whimpered.

The brunette shot the girl a reassuring smile, "it's okay, Baby" she promised.

The thought of the note flooded Emma's mind. The girl opened her mouth to speak when she was suddenly cut of, "ready to do this, Swan?" Zelena's voice boomed through the room.

Both women let out a soft sigh and Emma cleared her throat awkwardly, "yeah" she mumbled.

The redhead let out a soft giggle as she crossed the room and threw her arm across the blonde's shoulders, "then make it look a bit more realistic" she joked light-heartedly as she nudged her friend playfully with her hip.

The blonde forced a smile, "I can do it" she thought confidently to herself, "it's for me and Gina" she concluded.

Regina looked up at her younger sister and raised an eyebrow, "Z, are you even in to women?" She questioned.

Zelena shrugged, "details, details" she brushed off without giving a full answer, "c'mon Swan, let's get this done" she said with a wink.

Regina shifted in her seat. Emma could tell that the older woman was uncomfortable, that she didn't want the pair to go through with this plan. Truth be told, neither did Emma.

"I'll see you later, Gina" Emma mumbled making eye-contact with her girlfriend.

The brunette smiled, "see you later, Em" she responded sweetly.

Emma followed Zelena's lead, accepting her hand as the redhead thread her fingers with her own. The blonde shifted nervously.

"Lighten up, Swan" the redhead joked, nudging her gently with her hip.

Emma nodded slowly, forcing herself to smile.

.

Emma sat on edge throughout the whole of English the following Friday afternoon. She’s been on edge since Monday when she got the note from Kathryn.

Emma knew that she didn't believe the charade she was putting on with Zelena. The popular blonde has been eyeing her knowingly in the cafeteria as though she is waiting for the perfect time to pounce.

The young blonde has kept the note to herself and she’s begun to lose sleep through the panic that it’s given her.

.

The bell rang snapping the girl from whatever trance she was in.

The brunette teacher at the front of the room cleared her throat, “Emma, can I talk to you about your essay?” She asked as students began escaping from the room.

The blonde stiffened slightly knowing that it can't be good, but nodded and got to her feet.

Once the last person was out the door, Regina firmly closed the door and looked at the blonde, “what’s going on, Emma?” The woman asked gently.
