Regina watched as her mother made her way swiftly out of the room leaving the door open knowing perfectly well that the woman would follow in suit.

The brunette gently removed herself from Emma's hold being extra careful not to wake her up. The one thing the woman didn't want was to drag Emma into the argument that is guaranteed to unfold between the Mayor and the teacher.

Regina made her way quickly out of the room and ran down after the older woman, "mother!" She yelled out.

The woman followed her mother into the living room, "mother!" She snapped again causing the older brunette to come to a stop.

The Mayor turned and stared at her daughter with fuming eyes.

Regina looked over at Zelena who was standing next to the sofa, "Regina, I'm so sorry! I completely forgot" she rambled out quickly.

The brunette opened her mouth to tell her it was okay when her mother beat her to it, "you knew about this?" The woman hissed at her youngest daughter.

The redhead nodded, "of course I did. It was my sister and my best friend" she growled back in response.

Regina shot Zelena a small smile of thanks for trying to stand up for her but quickly shook her head. The woman didn't want her little sister getting involved either, "this is my situation and I'm going to be the one to sort it out" the brunette thought to herself.

Their mother scowled, "this is none of your business, Zelena. Go upstairs, now" she snapped.

Zelena looked over to her older sister as though she was waiting for confirmation.

Regina nodded slowly, and the girl made her way quickly up the stairs.

Cora stared at her eldest daughter, completely fuming with anger, "care to explain to me why I came home to get lunch only to find my daughter in bed with her student?" She hissed crossing her arms.

The teacher let out a soft sigh trying to remain calm, "mother, just let me explain" she said gently but she knew that she wasn't going to get through to her mother, not when she's like this.

Cora scoffed, "how long has this little affair been going on for?" She pressed.

Regina shifted slightly on the spot, "depends on your point of view" she muttered earning herself a hard glare.

The brunette gulped nervously, "officially, a week. We kissed for the first time a few weeks prior and have been practically flirting with each other since we met" she explained quickly.

Her mother scowled from across the room.

Cora opened her mouth to speak but Regina quickly cut her off, "and before you continue, it's not a 'little affair'. I care for Emma so much I didn't even think it was possible" the brunette added in before her mother had another chance to speak.

Cora rolled her eyes, "she's an eighteen-year-old girl, Regina. She's your student, it's illegal" she pressed.

"Of course, she was going to play that card" the teacher thought to herself.

Regina ran her fingers through her dark hair, "I know, but..." She started but was quickly cut off, "I don't want to hear it, Regina" her mother snapped.

The older brunette was about to walk away when Regina grabbed her arm, "no, you will listen to me" the younger woman practically growled.

Her mother's brown eyes widened in shock at her daughter's sudden change of tone, "I am done playing nice with her and trying to stay calm. If she isn't going to listen to what I had to say, then I will force her to listen" she growled internally

Regina sighed, "Emma is such a sweet, amazing girl who deserves the world. She saw past what everyone else said about these 'Evil' names that you've cursed us with and got to know me, for me" she hissed.

Cora stared her down, but the woman stood her ground. The brunette was going to fight for this, nothing was going to take Emma from her, not now.

Regina sighed, "for the first time in a long time I felt something. I knew that it was wrong. Hell, I even tried blocking her out, but I couldn't. I physically couldn't take it" she continued.

The teacher noticed her mother's gaze soften slightly, "on her eighteenth birthday I was so tired of trying to hide my feelings for the girl that I just decided, you know what? Fuck it" she snapped.

The woman dropped her grip on the Mayor's arm, "I have become so attached to the young girl over the past months but this last week has been the best" she mumbled, her voice softening once again.

Regina sighed, "this last week, knowing that I no longer needed to conceal my feelings from her. Having her with me, having her in my arms, it has the best I've felt in a long time" she whispered.

Her mother stared at the younger brunette, completely taken aback by everything she had just told her.

After a few moments of silence Cora spoke up, "you really care for her, don't you?" She asked gently trying to figure out which way to respond to her daughter's sudden outburst.

Regina nodded, "I do, mother. So much" I gasped out. There was no lie there, every day I grow to care more and more for the young girl.

Cora sighed and slowly crossed her arms, "I assume that her parents don't know?" She asked hesitantly.

Regina nodded slowly as she bit her lower lip nervously.

The teacher couldn't tell which way this was going to go, "and does anyone else know besides Zelena?" The Mayor questioned further.

The brunette nodded, "Ruby. It was actually Zelena and her that pushed us into admitting our feelings for each other" she explained to the older woman.

Cora sighed at the information, "you need to tell her parents" she told the teacher.

Regina sighed, "she's scared" she mumbled, "Emma's been through so much rejection and she's terrified that she's going to lose this too" she told the older brunette quickly.

Her mother raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow, "why do you think she's here? With me holding her close after a night with her friends? She hasn't slept in days, mother. Nightmares of losing everyone just as her life is getting good for once are haunting her" Regina explained to her, the teacher's voice was soft and full of concern. Cora frowned at the new information.

The older brunette sighed, "they still need to be told" she told her daughter sternly.

Regina nodded in response, "I know" she mumbled shifting slightly in her spot.

The Mayor cleared her throat, "if her parents can accept the relationship then I can look past it for the time being" she told the woman after a moment of thought.

Regina's heart practically skipped a beat from inside her chest at her mother's words. That was the last thing the girl expected to hear.

The younger brunette couldn't help but smile, "but only if her parents can accept it. If they don't then this whole thing must end immediately" Cora warned sternly staring at her daughter intently once again.

The teacher nodded quickly, "of course, mother" she rambled out.

Her mother sighed, "I saw how you two acted together, I had my suspicions for a while" she explained.

Regina bit her lower lip not really knowing how to respond.

Cora shot her daughter a short glare, "don't make me regret this, Regina" she muttered. The younger brunette nodded as her mother made her way towards the kitchen.

Regina let out a deep sigh of relief, "we have a chance" she thought to herself.

The woman made her way back up the stairs and walked into the room to find her blonde sitting upright on the bed.
