I looked down at my arms as they were emerged in soapy water beaming every time my new tattoo caught my eye.

Memories flooded my brain of Niall admiring my arm saying "it looks sick," and "I should become a tattoo artist meself".

Every little detail of the small letter reminded me of Niall now. The tattoo that once haunted me with thoughts of Zayn was now replaced by one that made my heart speed up every time I looked at it.

I was so involved in my own thoughts I hadn't realized Liam standing right beside me, looking at me expectantly.

"Do you?" he prompted.

"What?" I hadn't even realized Liam had spoken.

"Do you know where Louis is?" Liam reiterated, his eyebrows raising.

"Oh," I also hadn't noticed that Louis hadn't come into work yet, "no I don't."

"God where is he?" Liam muttered to himself.

His question was answered when Louis came rushing into the diner.

"Where were you?" Liam demanded, "I was worried sick. I had no idea where you were, you haven't answered your texts since yesterday-"

"I don't think you can get mad at me for not telling you where I am," Louis retorted quietly.

What was going on?

"What?" Liam spat.

"Uh, it's nothing. I was just taking a nap, slept in a little," Louis quickly defended.

Liam's harsh expression softened and he tugged Louis into his arms. "You just had me worried," Liam said gently. He pulled away and pecked Louis' lips softly before returning to work.

Louis slumped over to the sink beside me with a solemn expression on his face.

"Are you okay?" I whispered gently.

"I'm upset with you Harry Styles," he announced loudly, although I was right beside him.

"What? What did I do?" I panicked. Had I done something wrong? Did I offend one of my only friends?

"Do you know what day it is?" he asked. His expression had become completely unreadable.

"Janurary 31st?"

"Yes. Janurary 31st. And you have neglected to inform me that it is your birthday tomorrow!" he said with a cheeky grin on his face.

I exhaled in relief.

"We have to do something!" he cheered.

"I don't really do birthday parties," I cringed.

"It won't be a party per say, but a gathering. Look you have tomorrow off work right?"

"Lou look-"

"Right?"

"Yes," I muttered in defeat.

"Okay, so we'll have some dinner, have a little fire, I have a fire pit did you know? Niall will be there. I'll invite Liam. We'll have some drinks. Sound good?" Louis excitedly rambled on about his plans.

"I guess so."

"Great!" he cheered, "drop by tomorrow say around 6?"

"Okay," I gave a half-assed attempt at looking excited.

"There will be cake," Louis persuaded.

I nodded feeling a bit more excited. "A little party never killed nobody," I recited.

Saying that brought back a nostalgic feeling from before I met Zayn. Before I met Zayn I had a lot of friends. I used to party a reasonable amount. I used to be sociable. This was all before I met Zayn. The sudden feeling similar to before I had met him got me more excited for my birthday. I had found a new group of friends that were good for me. I was finally getting Zayn out of my system.
