It had been nearly a week since my birthday and Niall and I hadn't spoken much besides a few texts back and forth. It seemed as though we had lost all progress we made in terms of our relationship. It had also been nearly a week since the kisses we shared that hadn't once left my mind. Every time I would just think about them blush would creep up my neck and a grin would cross my face.

"What if he lost interest in me?" I rambled on to Louis as he washed dishes, "did I do something wrong? What if I was a bad kisser?"

"Harry-"

"Does he still talk about me? Does he think I don't like him anymore because I d-"

"Harry!" Louis raised his voice, "maybe you want to get to work?" he nodded towards the dirty dishes beginning to pile up.

"Oh, sorry. It's just I like him so much Lou, I worry he doesn't feel the same way."

"He told you he did, didn't he?" Louis assured me. I nodded.

"Should I ask him out on a date? Where would I take him? What do you think he would want to do?" I looked over at Louis who was distracted by looking over at Liam.

"Louis?" Louis whipped his head around to look at me.

"Sorry what?"

"Are you okay? You seem a little...distant," I whispered.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. I'm sure you and Niall will be fine," Louis said before collecting dishes to put away.

I returned to doing my job and memories of my birthday flooded my mind.

After Louis and Liam returned, Niall and I huddled under the same blanket and warmed ourselves up by the fire. With Niall leaning his head on my shoulder and occasionally looking at me to place a light kiss on my nose. Everything felt right in that moment. Like we had known each other for years. Later that night Niall escorted me to the door and stood up on his toes to kiss me goodnight.

"Harry," Ed's voice crept into my thoughts, "Harry!" he yelled and I turned to see him standing beside me.

"Oh, hi," I smiled.

"Did you even hear what I said?" he tapped his foot on the tile impatiently.

"No...sorry I was-"

"I'm leaving early today. It's me and my boyfriend's 3 month anniversary today, I'm taking him out for dinner," Ed gushed.

"3 month," I said to myself under my breath.

Zayn and I had only broken up a little over a month ago and it was his and Ed's 3 month anniversary? My breathing sped up as my mind swirled with thoughts. The time he stood me up at a restaurant and claimed he was stuck in traffic. The time I caught him sneaking out at 1 in the morning and he said he was needed at work. The time he didn't show up to Christmas dinner because he said he had a family emergency. Zayn not only left me, but was cheating on me?

"Bastard!" a shout slipped out of my mouth.

"Excuse me?" Ed took a step back.

"Sorry not you-"

"Then who?" Ed folded his arms.

I hesitated but couldn't help myself from saying it. "Zayn!"

"How do you know him?"

"Because I-" I stopped myself. I couldn't tell Ed that Zayn cheated on him. I couldn't deal with the consequences if Zayn found out I broke them up.

"I met him and he seems like a jerk."

"Well you couldn't be more wrong," he defended, "and if I were you, I'd keep my personal life out of my workplace if I wanted to keep my job."

"Yes sir," I mumbled.

Ed gave me one final look before hastily leaving the kitchen. I hoped no one else had heard our argument. That's when I overheard another argument arising from the other end of the kitchen.

"Sorry that sometimes I have other plans that don't involve you," Liam shouted, "why are you so concerned with what I'm doing all the time?"

"Maybe I wouldn't have to be if you answered your texts more often and didn't go missing for hours without explanation," Louis retorted.

"I didn't realize I had to tell you where I was 24/7. You do realize I am a grown man."

My phone buzzed in my pocket. I looked down at my screen and saw a text from Niall.

"Come outside ;) x"

I was hesitant to leave Louis and Liam but I figured they needed to be left alone. I pushed open the swinging doors and spotted Niall at the main entrance with a rose in hand.
