I woke up at 8 o'clock that morning, overly excited to see Niall again. I stretched out of bed and padded over to the bathroom. I took a long shower and after multiple attempts of blow drying my hair to get it to look right, gave up and pulled a beanie over my loose curls. I stared at myself in the mirror trying to calm my racing heart at the thought of Niall.
"He's just a guy. He might not even be gay. He's probably straight. He's definitely straight. Maybe," I muttered to my reflection.
I restlessly tried to pass the remaining time and ended up just quitting and laying on my bed, counting the spots on the ceiling. My eyes trailed over to the guitar resting against the wall and I hauled myself up and grabbed it along with my songbook I kept hidden, and a pen. I strummed a few chords and wrote out some lyrics, as well and crossing them out, Niall not once leaving my mind. Soon enough my phone vibrated and I peered at my screen.
"Here".
I grabbed a jacket and my keys and quickly ran out to the car.

We pulled up to the familiar "Ed's Diner" sign. However it wasn't the same location we worked at. It was one of the higher end diners with brighter lights and the little jukeboxes by the tables that actually worked. Liam and Louis slid into one side of the booth, never letting go of each other's hands. Niall sat down on the other side and I slid in behind him. We all carried on normal conversation with me occasionally tuning out to stare at Niall for a moment or two. My concentration was broken when I spotted a dark haired man sitting alone who looked all too familiar.
"Shit," I whispered, slumping down in my seat trying to hide behind my menu.
"What?" Louis asked, leaning in.
"Hey look Louis it's Zayn," Liam cheered, lightly tapping Louis on the shoulder.
"Wait, you know him?" I hissed.
"You know him?" Liam asked with a puzzled expression.
"Yeah I used to date him," I looked over to see him squinting at us.
"Shit mate, that's your Zayn?" Louis whispered, leaning in further.
"You dated him?" Niall piped up.
"Yeah he left me because I didn't have enough money or some bullshit."
"How do you guys know him?" Niall asked Liam and Louis, seeming just as confused as me.
"He's Ed's boyfriend," Louis whispered through his teeth.
"What?!" I shouted in shock, then slapped my hand over my mouth.
I peeked over my menu and saw him walking towards us. I kept trying to make myself look as small as possible. Maybe he wouldn't see me and he'd walk right passed us.
"Liam! Louis!" he called out.
Damn it.
"Hey Zayn how are you?" Louis asked stiffly.
"Great! Who's your friend?" he asked very politely.
Liam rubbed the back of his neck, "Uh, this is Niall and this is-"
"Nice to meet you," Zayn smiled extending his arm over me to Niall. Did he really not notice me at all?
"And good to sort of see you Harry," he sneered.
I sighed and sat up straight, placing my menu back on the table.
"I'm just here waiting for my boyfriend," he leaned on the table and set his cold eyes on me, "it's not good to dwell on the past. I think it's best to move on. Like I did, with my boyfriend," Zayn smirked devilishly.
