We spent half the drive in near silence. Louis has an eager grin on his face as he cruised down the road. Of course I was curious as to where we were going, but I knew better than to ask. Being taken to surprise locations wasn't exactly new to me.
"So how was LA," Louis finally broke the silence.
"It was sick mate. I could've stayed there and never come back," Niall replied enthusiastically from the backseat.
"But the you'd never see me again," Louis joked, sticking his bottom lip out.
"Even better," Niall smiled slyly.
I stifled a laugh and Louis gave me a look of disbelief.
"You think this is funny?"
I shook my head, forcing a frown onto my face to hide my smirk.
"Don't lie to me Styles," he warned.
"Niall he does have a point," I defended, "if he wasn't around who would trash the house and eat all the food?"
Niall and I both burst out into laughter. Louis glared at me but I could see a glint of amusement in his eyes. I had missed this side of Louis.
"You know what?" Louis stopped the car, "get out of my car."
Niall and I continued to giggle.
"No I'm serious," Louis put the car into park.
"What?" I mumbled as Louis opened his door and hopped out of the car.
Niall and I followed and we stood on a street lined with shops.
"We're here," Louis smiled proudly.
I looked up at the building and saw a large sign that read "Payne Tattoos".
"Like it? Just opened up," Louis pulled a set of keys from his pocket and began to open the door.
"Wait, you own this place?" I gaped.
Louis nodded as he held the door open for Niall and myself.
"But how-" I mumbled taking in the impressive equipment that appeared far more expensive than what he had at home.
"Uh, Liam left me a lot of money in his will. It's what he would want me to do with it. He always wanted me to go on to live my dream."
"Wow that's," I smiled widely, "that's amazing."
"How's business?" Niall asked, looking around the shop in awe.
"It's pretty great actually. I only opened it a week ago but it's been pretty busy," Louis stated proudly.
"This is sick!" Niall had wandered over to the books of tattoo designs and was flipping through the pages, "how'd you get it up and running so fast?"
"I met with Liam's lawyer the day you guys left and immediately knew what to do with the money. I had my eye on this place for a while so when I had the opportunity, I took it," Louis shrugged, "it only seemed fair that I named it after him."
"An honest name too," Niall smirked at himself, "Payne tattoos. You know like pain, ouch?" he explained as if no one got his joke.
"You wouldn't know since you've never gotten a tattoo before," Louis stated smugly.
"It's not like I'm afraid okay?" Niall defended, "I just don't think, tattoos aren't-"
"It's because you're a wimp, Horan," Louis grinned.
"Am not!" Niall scoffed.
"Really? Then why don't you get one. Right now."
I watched in amusement as Niall racked his brain for an excuse. Suddenly, a sly grin crossed his face.
