"Hey Niall," I wrapped my arm around Niall's shoulders from behind the couch, kissing the side of his face.

"Hey Harry," he said slowly with a confused tone to his voice, "what's up?" he turned to face me.

"I was just wondering if you've got any plans tonight?" I smirked.

Niall paused to think for a moment and then shook his head.

"Good. I'm taking you out."

"Taking me out on a Tuesday night? What's the occasion?" he asked suspiciously.

"No occasion," I responded almost too quickly.

"Alright. When do we leave?"

"Wait just a second," I held out a finger and ran down the hall.

I grabbed the flowers I left laying on the kitchen counter as I sped down the hall. I quickly ran to the front door, nearly slipping on the hardwood floor, before going out the front door and closing it behind me. I paused for a few seconds just to breathe before knocking on the door.

It took a few seconds for Niall to open the door, looking bewildered.

"Harry what are you doing?" he nearly laughed.

"Taking you on a date. Now come on," I held out the flowers to him and he accepted them into his hands.

I lead him down the steps towards my car and opened the door for him.

"Thank you," Niall jokingly held his hand over his heart.

"For someone who called themselves "a hopeless romantic" you don't seem to be very appreciative," I accused with a grin on my face.

"Sorry, it was very nice," he flashed a toothy grin once I got in the car.

"So where are we going?" Niall asked as we drove down the road.

I tried to hide my smug expression and remained silent.

"Harry?" Niall spoke louder, "hello?"

"It's a surprise," I finally answered.

I took this as my opportunity to take him to a secret place.

However, the restaurant wasn't very far away and soon enough we pulled into Ed's Diner.

"Why here?" Niall questioned, "I mean you just got fired and, you know."

I simply shrugged in response. He would catch on soon enough.

We opened the glass doors and were greeted by Luke and Calum.

"Welcome to Ed's Diner," Calum announced formally, "allow me to show you to your seats."

We followed the two of them to a booth near the kitchen.

"I have prepared you something extra special for tonight and may I just say, it's delicious," Luke boasted and turned towards the kitchen.

"Not very modest are you mate?" I heard Calum snicker as they walked away.

"So," Niall reached over the table to hold my hand, lightly rubbing my knuckles with his thumb, "how have you been?"

I grimaced thinking of all the current events that occurred just a few days ago.

"Well, I guess maybe my mum was released too early," I mumbled, "and as for Zayn...I-I don't know."

"Well he does know where you work. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for him to find where you live. Or your phone number?"

"Can we not talk about this right now," I interrupted, instantly feeling guilty, "just for our date. Besides, it'll all be fixed soon."
