4. Stabbed

"He is clearly possessed. We need to perform an exorcism," Romi said. 

"What are you waiting for? Do it now?" Joey said. 

"Joey, my dear Joey, you are the witch. You will be the one expelled first if an exorcism is performed," Romi kneaded her hand. 

Wolf hit Daniel hard when he was laughing demonically and he fell down. The fall hurt his head on the back and he fainted again. 

Romi instructed Joey to tie him up in the bed. "He will start eating the wounded hand otherwise," she reasoned. 

Joey did it just by snapping his fingers and Romi stood there flabbergasted. He could control objects as heavy as human body. 

"Can I do it?" Joey asked concerned. 

"I don't know. I have never seen anything like this. Usually the witches control spirits which possess people. The church or the exorcists drive them out. But, they too stay away from the witch's wrath, in most cases," she explained. 

"You told me Daniel is in danger because of me. How did you know?" Joey asked. 

"That was not me. Do you think I will be living in that hell hole if I have powers like disappearing in thin air? It was your intuition. It took my form because I was the last mystic you saw. You know like children imagining the most beautiful person they have seen for a prince," Romi explained. 

"So, what do we do now? Shall I try to heal him?" Joey asked. 

"Can you do that?" she asked surprised. 

"Yes. I can. Daniel works in a hospital as a volunteer. He will come home and cry sometimes unable to see certain people suffering. I will heal them to make him happy," Joey said. 

"Well you can try," she said. Joey and Romi walked to the room where they had tied Daniel to a bed post. He was sleeping like a child. Joey concentrated on his wounds and visioned them healing. First his burnt hands and then the head injury. Daniel's body glowed. 

"Amazing. It is not even two minutes. He is healed completely. How did you become so powerful?" Romi asked surprised. 

"Well, the power has been with me since birth. I try not to use it often. Even Daniel doesn't know anything about it," Joey said. They came out of the room and stood by the door talking. They heard the dogs howling together again. Daniel woke up. 

"Joey, why did you tie me up? What happened?" he asked. 

"Nothing Danny, nothing. I will untie you now," Joey said running to him and bending to pull out the ropes. 

"Joey, no. It is not him," Romi shouted. But she was too late. Daniel had already bit Joey's neck fiercely. Romi took her rosary and placed the cross on Daniel's head chanting a spell. He released Joey. He freed himself from the bonds in a minute and headed straight to the kitchen. 

Joey's neck was bleeding profusely. Daniel took a butcher knife and pounced on Joey. Romi tried to stop him. But, he pushed her aside effortlessly. He jumped on Joey crouching in pain helplessly and tried to stab him. 

Joey thought it was the end. His whole life flashed in front of his eyes. "I love you pig," he muttered. Daniel's knife stopped before piercing straight into his heart, miraculously. It was touching Joey's shirt. It looked like Daniel was controlling himself with extreme effort. He stood up and stabbed himself straight in the heart.
