ROSE'S POV

With a highly anticipated ball, full of Romance, love, beauty and affection,
Comes a lot of hassel.

To me at least.
While all the other girls were off to buy dresses that matched with their lover's bow ties, get their hair done, and basically get caked up, I was lying on my bed with a book in my hands. I wasn't interested in looking good for today evening at all.
And I had reasons for it.

Firstly, I had to attend a Valentine's Day ball, with a guy I don't really have romantic feelings for.
Secondly, the guy I wanted to attend the ball with was taking my best friend.
Thirdly, I just wasn't interested.

Just as I was about to reach the climax of my book, the door barged open.

Fuck. My. Life.

"What are you doing?" Ali asked me as she pulled my curtains open.

"Reading a book on the merfolk of the Arctic ocean?" I said with a duh look.

"That I can see. But my question was, why are you not getting ready?"  I noticed that her hair was now neatly curled, and her hands looked manicured.

"I'm pretty sure that wasn't your question."

"Shut up and answer me."

"You know I can't shut up, and answer you right?"
I'm finding this very amusing. She isn't scary at all.

"Rose Granger-Weasley. Why. Are. You. Not. Getting. Ready. For. The. Goddamn. Ball?" Each word was followed with her walking closer to me, wand in hand.

I gulped. Fine she's a bit scary.

"Because I don't feel like getting ready yet." I shrugged as I put my book away and stretched.

Ali looked like she was about to say more when the door burst open revealing a caked up Zoe and Scarlett, who looked just like me, not ready.

"Finally! Someone who isn't looking like a freaking cupcake!" Scarlett screamed and jumped into my bed with me, slipping under the blankets too.

"Okay that's it. GET THE FUCK UP BOTH OF YOU AND GET READY IN FIVE MINUTES OR I'M GOING TO MAKE SURE, THAT NONE OF YOU GETS TO SEE THE SUNLIGHT EVER AGAIN.
GET UP!" Ali roared.

We got out from under the blanket in record breaking time and ran towards the bathrooms.

"Jesus Christ lady. You scared the shit out of me. Take it down a few notches the next time." Zoe muttered with wide eyes as she sat down and resumed to straighten her hair.

***

"I look stupid." I muttered adjusting my red dress.

"Oh tell me something new honey." Scarlett muttered while wearing her shoes.

"Hey. That's rude!"
"Do I look like I'm trying to be polite?"

I sighed and looked at myself in the mirror. The both of us were in the Ravenclaw bathroom and since everyone else had already gotten their make up and hair done, we were the only ones in there.

"Do you think leaving my hair open is a bad choice?"
I asked Scar, still unsure of how I looked.

"Hun, I spent forty five minutes combing that Bush. Add fifteen more for putting Sleekezy's on it, and we'll have an hour. Do not make me get up and smack you. You look fine."

"Just fine?"
"Okay, you look wonderful."
"That's more like it!"

I slipped on my heels and checked myself out in the mirror again.
I don't know what I was getting so worked up about,
I looked fabulous!
No wonder Scorpius is mad for me, I'm beautiful!
