I swallowed and sat back. "That wasn't the first time. Not the first time she'd lost someone. Not the first time she'd held their dead body. Not the first time I stood in silence as the world turned blue around me."
The girl shifted. "Your friend passed..."
I nodded. "Traffic accident. Zeenath, the friend from back home. She watched her best friend die in her lap."
I shook my head. "Not the first time I stood and watched as the world turned blue around me."
