There he was.
He sat there with his nose in the newspaper.
The coffee next to him sat there untouched. Same goes with the bagel filled with cream cheese.
The small chatter and people in the café didn't seem to bother him one bit.
Every Monday at 9 AM, he'd come to this café for his morning cup of fresh espresso. He'd also order a pastry every now and then.
He'd come in with the day's newspaper in hand, order his coffee, and sit in a small table by the window.
If he didn't have his newspaper, he'd have his phone in his hands or stare off into the world through the window whilst sipping on his coffee.
And when he does stare out the window, it gives me the chance to see his beautiful face.
The mysterious man had Chestnut colored hair which looked perfectly messy. His dark brown eyes hid behind thick, black glasses.
Small deep dimples appeared on his face as he ate his bagel.
Today, he sported a grey turtleneck, and black, slim-fitted pants. Oddly, he wore converse high with his outfit today.
It didn't matter though. He looked stunning as always.
He continued reading through the newspaper without ever looking up. Not even once.
I wish he did. I wanted to see his face.
Suddenly, he looked up, and his brown orbs met mine.
I quickly turned my head to face the window.
"Shit, shit, shit I think he saw me," I thought.
Slowly, I glanced at him.
Luckily, his face was buried deep in his newspaper. Thank God.
I felt happy, but there was this disappointment in me.
I wanted to talk to him. I wanted to know his name, what he likes, and so on.
Instead, I'm here sitting a few tables away from him like another stranger.
"How long are you going to keep staring at him?"
"Hoseok! Jeez, you scared the shit out of me! And can you please keep it down? He might hear you," I scolded in a hushed tone.
Hoseok is a barista here at this café. And he's also my close friend.
When I first met Hobi, I accidentally spilt my Irish Cream all over him because I didn't pay attention to where I was going. You probably have an idea of where I was looking.
Anyways, we grew closer after that incident. He even knows my little crush on mystery man over there.
Hoseok is truly my only friend here. Being in a new country is hard for a girl like me. Let alone making new friends.
"C'mon, Y/N! It's been three weeks already! When are you going to make a move on 'mystery man?'"
Ever since I told Hobi about him, he wouldn't stop teasing me about it. I understand that he wants me to break free from my shell and talk to him, but there is no way I can do that.
"Hobi, what am I supposed to do? Tell him, 'Oh hi, I'm Y/N and I've been totally stalking you for a couple of weeks now. Can I have your phone number?'" I sassed.
Hoseok just gave me a blank expression. "I mean... You have been stalking him for a couple of weeks no-OW!"
Before he could finish his sentence, I slapped his arm.
