Trigger Warning

There's a saying that Taehyung would always hear about someone's heart "fluttering" or "skipping a beat" when doing something that excites them. Well if that were to happen to him, he would probably end up in a casket. Taehyung was born prematurely and was diagnosed with arrhythmia, meaning that his heart beats at an irregular pace which is why he can't "function" properly. Wires and monitors were always attached to his body. Taehyung thought it was cool to have all of these things hooked on to him, but there were other things the little boy longed for.

Because of his heart, Taehyung was homeschooled. He couldn't go to a regular school and meet friends or play sports like he always wanted to. The TV or the nurses were the only source of entertainment for him, and he felt that those things weren't enough.

Then there came the day where Taehyung had to undergo an open heart surgery to install a pacemaker in him. The doctors, surgeons, and anyone involved had to discuss it under heavy precaution. Mainly because at that time, he was a seven year old boy, and his chances of living were very slim as well as his options which were limited.

After the surgery, Taehyung's health was slowly going back to it's normal state. His heart was still "shitty" (as Tae would say), but the pace maker helped him live up to this point. Almost everyone in the hospital called him a "beating miracle" because of how successful the operation was.

He considered himself as an odd child growing up. With the biggest smile on his face, Taehyung would always show off the scar near his chest and tells people that he was half robot because they had installed a pace maker to keep track of his heart beat. He'd even call himself a robot because of that which made the nurses laugh along and go with the flow. Even his parents thought it was cute.

For a moment, Taehyung was happy that he survived such a big feat, but he felt as if something was still missing.

Several years later, Taehyung was unfortunately still living at the hospital instead of living out his life at the age of twenty three in the big bad world. He was always under supervision, whether it be his parents or the nurses; he was always watched which made him grow tired of it all. Everything was bland to Taehyung. He's lost count of how many times he asked his parents to take him outside. The farthest that Taehyung's ever been to the outside was the parking lot when he tried to be rebellious at the age of 15 and run away, only to end up in his hospital room with tubes and needles hooked up to him again.

After a long and emotional talk with his parents and his doctors, they all agreed that it was time for Taehyung to meet the outside world for a week under the supervision of a nurse who'd help with his medications and all that jazz. As much as he hated it, the young man agreed quickly, not wanting to waste any time for his precious vacation from the prison people call hospital.

Taehyung met with the nurse at the hospital the day before moving in the hotel room. She was a face he'd never seen before which probably meant she was transferred from a different hospital. Her name was Lee Hyejin who became a licensed nurse over a year ago, and was given the case by Taehyung's doctor so she knows almost everything about him and his health. The parents also gave a  schedule to Hyejin, which included what time Taehyung needed to take his medicine, eat, etc.

While Tae was in his room packing up for the trip, Hyejin had been keeping track of his heartbeat through a machine she installed in her medic box. She also packed other neccessities in case anything goes wrong.

Taehyung admitted to one of the other nurses that she looked cute, but as soon as he got to know Hyejin, she was boring as hell.

As soon as they arrived at the hotel, Taehyung knocked out right when he laid on the bed, which almost gave Hyejin a heart-attack. "I'm not dead! Jesus, chill!"
