"Aye man! Be careful with that!" "Please don't touch it ther-and now the strings broke." "No, you cannot 'shred' anything." "Please don't do a drum solo if you don't know how to play."
That was pretty much my life. Ever since I started working here at the music store, I've been telling people off. Besides telling people off and playing with the instruments here when I close up, not a lot happens. But today was different.
With my feet up on the counter, I was sitting on my ass, lazily scrolling through my phone. Surprisingly, it was a slow day today. I haven't told anyone off yet. Boss walked up to me while looking around the store. I quickly put my feet down, and fixed myself. "Slow day today huh Yoongi?"
"Yeah it's pretty slow. How weird. I would be fixing strings by now," I joked, and boss chuckled.
"No strings need fixing today yet. I'll be back in a couple of hours. I have to pick my daughter up from school. I trust you with the shop Yoongi. One mess up and you're fired."
I gulped as he said that, putting more weight on my shoulders. We bid our adieus, and he headed out the door. I let out a sigh of relief, and went back to whatever I was doing before boss showed up.
The sound of the tiny bell interrupted my game. Damn, I lost to Namjoon again. Playing trivia games with a smarty like him is hard. I put away my phone, and looked up to see a girl walking around the shop. She went up to the piano section near me, and let her fingers glide across the keys as if it was fragile. For a split second, she turned her head towards the shelves behind the counter. "Do you need help with anything?" I asked, but it was like she didn't hear me. How strange.
A small smile appeared on her face as she kept walking around. The look on her face though; it was like she was in heaven, and I understand that completely. Walking into the shop makes you feel like you're in heaven. "Musician heaven" as I like to call it.
I looked around to see that she disappeared. I think about stuff for a second, and now she's gone. Shit.
Throughout the whole day, that girl never left my mind. Not even once. I wonder who she is.
~~~~"Have a good one," I said to the boy who bought his first guitar. I'm glad he wasn't like those other dicks who broke the ones on display. I sighed, and sat down. Where is she?
The girl that came in a couple of weeks ago kept coming to the shop for a least once a week. She did look a bit sketchy with a coat that is way too big for her, and a scarf that covers her face to the bridge of her nose. But she does look cute at the same time.
My ears perk up at the sound of the door opening. I turn my head to see it was her again. She walked over to the piano section like she usually does, and played with them a little bit. Every now and then, she'd skim through the music theory textbooks, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion as she looked at the musical notes. I chuckled. She's adorable.
I decided to break the ice. From behind the counter, I called out to her. "Excuse me miss?" She just stood there, not even noticing me. "Miss?" I ask again, but still no response. Okay, it's either she's doing this on purpose to get my ass off the counter or something else is going on.
I went around the counter, and walked towards her. I lightly tapped her on her shoulder which made her jump. "I'm sorry for scaring you," I said scratching the back of my neck. "But do you need help with anything?"
