Chapter 2

Kayla's POV

"So Kayla, do you fancy any of the boys?" Ash asked as we were sat at the dining room with my dad and his mum, "What? No, I just met them" I said awkwardly, "Yeah, but haven't you heard of love at first sight?" ash said, "Yes Ash, I've heard of it, and it hasn't happened" I said laughing, "Ash, Kayla doesn't date anymore after her last 3 boyfriends cheated on her, a guy that wins her heart has gotta be special" dad said, I nodded.

"Kayla, have you thought about university?" Anne asked me, "I don't wanna go" I shrugged, "Why not?" She asked, "There's no point in going to school again, basically, and learning the one thing for four years, what if I end up not getting a job in that thing I studied? And then those years of my life were wasted, plus I'm too lazy to go to school again, I hated school" I said, "Well, what do you wanna do then?" She asked, "I wanna be a singer" I said, "You sing?" Ashton asked, "Yeah, I have a YouTube account where I put videos of me on" I said, "I'm in a band, me, Cal, Mikey and Luke" he said, "No way?" I asked, he nodded, "I gotta hear you guys" I said, "We gotta hear you too" he said laughing.

"So Kayla, are you liking Australia?" Anne asked, "Yeah, it's nice, but I miss my old friends" I said, "You'll meet new friends here" Anne said, "Plus you have me and the boys" Ash said, "I know, it's just gonna take a bit of time to get used to" I said, "I'm gonna go take a shower and get into my pyjamas and call Max and see what he has to say" I said chuckling as I put my empty plate in the sink and headed towards my new bedroom with an en suite.

I hopped into the shower and washed myself, my hair and shaved and whatever else I had to do. Once I did that I came out of the shower and went to my room, getting changed into pyjamas, which were short shorts and a long t shirt, and French braided my hair, so it would be wavy the next day.

I grabbed my phone from its charging spot and dialled Max's number, "Kayla?" he answers, "Hey Max" I said, "I am so sorry Kayla, I shouldn't have argued with you, it's not your fault" he said, "Its fine Max, I forgive you, I miss you" I said, "I miss you too Kayla, how is it?" he asked, "Its really good, I have a brother! His name is Ashton, he's really nice and is exactly like me" I said chuckling, "And he introduced me to three of his friends, they're so good looking" I said laughing, "Are any of them gay?" he asked, "I don't think so Maxy, i'll be sure to ask them and put a good word in for you" I said laughing, he chuckled, "I gotta go Kayla, I love you" he said, "Bye Maxy, love you too" I said hanging up.

Here's the thing about Max and I, we've been best friends forever and before he knew he was gay, we dated for like a week and we kissed but he figured out he was gay and we broke up and became best friends. He used to stay at my house, or I would stay at his, all the time, and none of our parents minded because he was openly gay and we had been best friends for ages.

"Kayla" Ashton's voice came from outside of my room, "Yeah?" I asked, "Can I come in?" He asked, "Yeah" I said as he opened the door and came and sat down next to me on my bed, "What's up?" I asked, "Wanna do a duet for our YouTube channel? We're pretty well known, it will get you more known and plus, it'll be pretty cool to duet" he said, I smiled, "Sure, what song will we sing?" I asked, "We'll work it out tomorrow with the other boys, have a nice sleep Kayla" he said leaving, "Night Ash" I said as he closed the door. I lay down and instantly fell asleep.

"Damn you jet lag" I mumbled to myself as I checked my phone which flashed 7:15 a.m. I sighed and tried going back to sleep but failing instantly, I sat up and sighed, rubbing my eyes, what to do at 7:15? I decided to go a run. What better way to get to know the place?

I stood up quietly and changed into yoga pants and a tank top, shoving on my Nike Air Max and tying my hair into a pony tail even though it was wavy, grabbing my earphones and phone and quietly making my way downstairs to the sitting room, I unlocked the door and slipped outside, closing the door behind me and putting music on.

Call me hopeless, but not romantic by Mayday Parade came on and I started to jog, going in random directions but trying to remember where I went, just in case I got lost, which I end up did anyway.

"Damn it" I cursed to myself as I tried to find my way back home, I sighed and got my phone out, cursing myself for not getting Ashton's mobile number, I sighed and stopped, trying to imagine what way I had to go but I just couldn't picture it, "Kayla?" a voice spoke from behind me, I turned around, "Luke" I said smiling, "What are you doing here?" he asked, "I couldn't sleep, jet lag, so I went out a run and now I might be lost" I said laughing, "Come on, i'll drive you home" he said as he led me to his house, "Wait, why are you out at this time?" I asked, "Just had to clear my mind" he said, I nodded as he drove me home.

"Thank you Luke" I said as I hopped out the car and went inside. "Where have you been?" Ashton asked, "And why is Luke's car outside?" he asked, "Well I couldn't sleep and decided to go out a run and I got lost and Luke saw me and offered to run me home, in which I wasn't gonna say no to because, well, I was lost, and I don't have your number" I said, "That makes sense, put your number into my phone" he said as he gave me his phone and I gave him mine. "Okay we're meeting the boys at noon" Ashton said, "Well I'm gonna go shower cause I am all sweaty and smelly" I said laughing as I went upstairs to shower.

An hour later my hair was blow dried and straightened, my make up was done, I had acid wash shorts and a floral crop top on with white low converse and I was going to eat some breakfast before I went anywhere.

"Okay, once again from the top guys" Ashton said, we had decided on the song and were currently rehearsing it. We had chosen stay by mayday parade.

I need some time just deliver the things that I need for now

"Wow guys that was amazing, lets record it now" Ashton said as he got the video recorder thing to record us as we sang again.

They were actually really good at singing, much better than I expected, Luke was so cute when he sang. Wait, what?
