Chapter 29

Kayla POV

"I can believe how cute she is" Luke said, "I know! She's so beautiful" I said smiling at my baby sister, "Just like you" he said, "Dude that was so cheesy" Ashton said laughing, I started laughing too, "I think Luke and Kayla should get a photo took with Ashley" Anne said, "Yeah come on guys, act all family like" Ashton said, "C'mon" dad said, "Wow! Okay, I'm glad I didn't wanna have a say in this or nothing" I said laughing as I took Ashley in my arms and Luke wrapped his arms around Ashley and I, it was like a cute family picture.

"Awh! Don't they look like a family" Ashton said, "You're next Kayla" He added, "No, your girlfriend is" I said, "None of you are! There will be no pregnancies 'til you're at least 25" Anne said, I smiled at him, I had never had a mother figure in my life, any woman my dad ever brought home always ended up leaving him, so I grew up without a mum, and now I have a mum, and a little sister, and a big brother, and my dad too, and it was totally worth the 17 year wait, because now its more perfect than I could ever imagine it to be.

"I can't believe you're leaving" I said sighing, "I know babe, but at least we're together this time" Luke said, "Yeah I guess, I'll miss you" I said kissing him lightly, "I'll miss you too beautiful" he said, "I have to go" he sighed, "I love you so much" I said, "I love you too kayls, i'll call you whenever I can" he said, "Bye ash, bye cal, bye Mikey, I love you so much" I said hugging everyone before they left to go on their flight.

"Kayla there's someone on the phone for you darling" dad shouted, "Coming" I said skipping downstairs, I was in such a happy mood today, I was watching Ashley all day while my dad and Anne had a day off, it had been just over a month since she was born, it was almost December now, and I was so excited to get to take ash out shopping, that was her nickname, the same as Ashton's.

"Who is it?" I asked smiling, "I dunno, they just called and asked for Kayla Jepson" dad said handing me the phone and walking away to change Ashley's dirty nappy (diaper if you're American or wherever else diaper is used)

"Hello" I said, "Is this Kayla Jepson?" the woman asked, "Uh, yeah" I said, "Are you the teenage girl who puts videos of yourself singing on YouTube?" she asked, "Yeah, can I ask what this is all about?" I said, "Let me introduce myself, my name is Amber Thomson, I am Mr Simon Cowell's personal assistant, and mr Simon Cowell has been watching your videos, in a non stalker-ish way" she said chuckling, I laughed slightly, "And we would love to meet you and your parents and consider a record deal" she said, "My parents?" I asked, "Well since you're only 17 you're still considered a young adult, and we need your parents' permission, I can fly you and your parents out to meet me" she said, "My step mum has just had a baby though, so we can't come to you" I said, "Then i'll come to you, how does the day after tomorrow sound?" she asked, "Um, hang on and i'll ask my dad if that's alright" I said, "No worries" she said.

"Dad!" I shouted, "What's up short stuff?" dad asked walking into the sitting room, "Im on the phone with Simon freaking Cowell's assistant and she wants to talk to us about me getting a record deal, she asked if its alright if she comes to meet us the day after tomorrow?" I asked, "Sounds perfect" he said smiling, I picked up the phone again, "He said that's alright" I said, "Alright then, it's settled, i'll be at your house at about noon on Tuesday, what's your address?" she asked, "134 park road" I said, "Alright, thank you miss Jepson, i'll see you Tuesday" she said, "Thank you" I said hanging up, "Yes yes yes yes yes" I said smiling, "You better call the boys and tell them the news, i'll tell your mother" dad said, "Okay, bye dad, have fun" I said smiling as he left to pick up Anne.

I picked up Ashley and placed her in her pram, making sure she was cozy enough before getting my phone and dialling Ashton's number, "ASHTON GUESS WHAT?" I screamed, "Calm down Kayla, what's up?" he asked laughing, "Guess who just fucking phoned me" I said, "No just tell me" he said, "Simon fucking Cowell's assistant, she's coming here on Tuesday to talk to me and my mum and Alan about a record deal, ash I'm fucking getting a record deal" I said, "Simon fucking Cowell has been watching my YouTube videos" I added, "See, I told you that you would do it" he said, "Okay I'm gonna call Luke quickly before i take Ashley out shopping" I said, "What? You're gonna have her turning into a mini you and she's not even 2 months old" he said laughing, "Bye ash" I said laughing, "Bye Kayla" he said before I hung up and called Luke, telling him all about the call and Tuesday and how excited I was, and listening to him ramble on about how he told me I was gonna make it somehow and how he missed me and how he was excited to come home for Christmas.

"Does the house look bad 'cause of Ashley's stuff?" Anne said, "Is Ashley alright in her play pen?" she asked, she was going on like this for ten minutes straight, "Everything is perfect" I said, "Yeah Anne it is" dad said, "Alright its five minutes 'til noon, she will be here soon" Anne said, I chuckled, she was more nervous than me, maybe because I already knew I was getting a record deal, unless everything went extremely bad, and that I knew she wasn't gonna be anything like John Jacob who was an asshole.

There was a knock on the door.

This was it.

"Hi my name is Amber" amber said, she was exactly how I pictured she would look, around 35/40, brown shoulder length hair and a warm smile, she looked like how you would picture a mother to look.

"Please, come on in" Anne said moving to the side and letting amber in, "Excuse the toys lying around, Ashley decides to throw things everywhere" Anne said, amber chuckled, "Its no problem, I didn't come to evaluate your house" she said laughing, "Right this way, would you like a drink or something?" Anne asked, "A glass of water would be great" amber said, my dad scurried off to get her a glass of water, returning seconds later.

"Okay, we're here to talk about Kayla, so let's begin" amber said, "Oh yes" Anne said, "How would you two, as Kayla's parents, feel about Kayla touring the world without you two?" amber asked, "Well we have a son in a band, and he's touring without us, so we would be fine with that" dad said, "And would you be okay with her if she had to go on tour with a boy band or a boy of some sort?" Amber asked, "Yes, she is a trusted young woman" dad said, I smiled at him, "Also she's got a boyfriend anyway" Anne said, amber nodded, "Which band is your son in? And what record label is he with?" she asked, "He's in 5 seconds of summer" dad said, "Oh, they're touring with our one direction boys, aren't they?" amber said, "Yeah" I answered, "Well this is super, Kayla in a few days we're going to London, if you have any original songs then make sure you have them at the ready and we'll get you to a recording studio as soon as we're there" she said.

I was going to London in a few days to record my own song?

"Thank you" was all I could say, I zoned out as amber explained everything to my dad and Anne and they signed stuff, I only zoned back in when I had to sign something.

It was like a dream I never wanted to wake from.

Then it all clicked.

This was actually real.

This was actually happening.
