Chapter 16

Kayla's POV

"So Kayla, how have you been these last few days?" Luke asked smiling down at me, "Boring" I said, "Because I wasn't there" he said laughing, "Not necessarily, just because it was boring, my dad and Anne come home in a few days anyway, plus my dad says he's got big news for Ashton and I, we made a bet, I said Anne's pregnant and ash said she's not, ten dollar bet going here" I said laughing, "You could be a whole ten dollars richer" Luke said chuckling, "Or poorer, depending on the news" I said laughing, "Yes, 'cause that ten dollars is really gonna put a big dent in your purse" Luke said, "You never know Luke. I am 17, not in school, or collage or university, I don't have a job and I've just moved here a few months ago" I said, "Okay, but will it?" he asked with his eyebrow raised, "No, but that's not the point" I said laughing, he started laughing too.

"How about we go out on a date tonight?" Luke asked, "Yeah that would be great" I said smiling, "Go get dressed and i'll come back in an hour, okay?" he said, "Yeah that's fine, what will I wear?" I asked, "Something nice" he said, "Be back in an hour, I love you" he said pecking my lips and leaving, I headed to my room to pick out an outfit.

I had recently tidied all my room up, there wasn't stuff lying around on the floor, all my clothes were put away tidily and the floor was clean and tidy, well it was until I had to pick out an outfit, then the floor was covered in clothes and shoes again, it was a mess, but I finally picked an outfit out.

I had picked a white skater dress and a black leather jacket and black converse, I straightened my hair and re-done my makeup, I looked in the mirror and was happy with my outfit, it was cute.

"KAYAL ARE YOU READY?" Luke shouted, "Yeah, give me a second" I shouted, grabbing my phone and purse and putting it into my black shoulder bag and walking down the stairs to meet Luke, I smiled and pecked his lips, "You ready?" he asked putting his arm around my waist, "Yeah, let's go" I said as we walked put to Luke's car, I got in and put my seatbelt on, waiting for Luke to get in and drive to our date place, wherever that was.

Ten minutes later we pulled up to a restaurant, "Awh, this looks lovely" I said, "Im glad you like it" Luke said as he opened my door for me, I smiled as I took his hand and we walked into the restaurant together, "Table for two please" Luke said to the man, "Of course, follow me" he said as he lead us to a table with two seats on either side of it and a small bowl in the middle with small flowers in it, it was lovely.

"Ash, they're at the airport! They'll be home in ten minutes" I said as I frantically ran around trying to tidy up a bit because the house was messy, "Calm down Kayla, they won't say anything" Ashton said, "Ash, do you even know your mum?" I said laughing, he started laughing as he helped me tidy up a bit, "The bet is still on isn't it?" I asked, "Yes, I still don't think my mum is pregnant" Ashton said, "Well I do" I said chuckling, "I hear a car" ash said, we both walked to the sofa and sat down.

My mum and Alan walked through the door, "Dad! Anne!" I said, "Mum! Alan!" Ashton said as we got up and hugged them, "What's the news?" I asked eagerly, "Sit down and we'll tell you" Dad said, "Okay" we both said looking at each other and then towards my dad and Anne, "The news is, I'm pregnant" Anne said, "Told you Ashton" I said, "And we want to ask you two if you're both okay with it" Dad said, "Well I'm okay with it" I said, "Yeah me too" Ashton said, "Then it's settled, we're keeping the baby!" Anne said smiling, "Im gonna go tell the boys, you coming Kayla?" Ashton said, "Yeah" I said standing up and following him outside, "You owe me ten dollars" I said, "Yeah I know, I know, here" he said handing me a ten dollar bill.

"Call Luke, Cal and Mikey and tell them to meet us at McDonald's" Ashton said, "Okay" I said dialling Luke's number, "Luke, meet Ashton and I at McDonald's right now" I said, "Okay kayls, see ya" Luke said as I hung up, and called Calum, "Cal, meet us at McDonalds just now" I said, "Alright Kayla, bye" he said hanging up, I called Michael, "Mikey get your ass to McDonald's right now" I said, "Alright Kayla, way to be nice about it" he said laughing, "Bye Michael" I said hanging up and looking at Ashton, "They said they'll meet us there" I said as we pulled up at McDonald's and went inside to sit at a table for 6, even though there were only 5 of us.

"Why was everyone ordered to meet you here?" Calum asked, "And I was ordered very rudely" Michael said, "Because we have news, well it's not our news but we wanna tell you guys" I said, "My mum is pregnant" Ashton said smiling, "Awh! You guys are gonna have a baby brother!" Michael said, "Or sister" I added, "Its gonna be a boy! I can tell" he said, "You are such a weirdo" I said laughing, "Just you wait young Kayla, 9 months from now when you have a baby brother you'll be saying to me 'oh Michael you were right' and i'll be grinning 'cause I proved you wrong" he said, "Alright Michael" I said chuckling.

"So what should we do today?" Calum asked, "We have to put a video on YouTube" Ashton said, "Oh yeah it's Friday ain't it?" Calum said, "Yup, who's house we doing it at today?" Luke asked, "Well my mum and Alan are just home and look shattered, so it can't be mine" Ashton said, "My mum and dad are out for the weekend, we can do it at mine" Michael said, "Mikey's house it is" Ashton said as we all finished out food at said we'd meet at Michael's house.

Five minutes later Ashton and I pulled up outside Michael's house and everyone else was already there, "Sorry guys we stopped at the shop" Ashton said as we got inside, "Yeah, that was my fault, I needed a drink" I said laughing as I sat on the sofa and watched the boys rehearse and act like idiots, I couldn't help but smile at my best friends, "Kayla will you hold the phone? It keeps on falling over" Luke said, "Yeah" I said taking the phone and pressing record, "WOOHOO IT'S 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER! YAY! IM IN THE SAME ROOM AS THEM" I shouted while Luke was looking at me and laughing, "Ashton that's your sister" Michael said, "Yeah well it's Luke's girlfriend, he had the choice, I never" Ashton said, I started laughing, "Hey! Asshole! Ashton i'll kick your ass" I yelled, "That's my girl!" Luke said, I smiled, "Just a normal day in our lives, okay we're doing a cover of all time low's 'the reckless and the brave' such a great song" Calum said, "I love that song" I said, "Shh Kayla" Michael said laughing, "Oh, sorry" I said laughing as they began singing.

I came to realise just how much I really loved it here in Australia.

Maybe it wasn't actually being Australia, maybe it was just the people I've come to meet, my best friends who I loved a lot.
