Chapter 8

Kayla's POV

"I know her" I spoke after a few seconds of processing this, "She was my best friend until she had to move here and we lost contact like two years ago" I said, Ashton smiled, "Really?" he said, "Yes, I have to meet her ash, I miss her" I said, "Sure, i'll see if she wants to join us for dinner tomorrow" he said, I nodded getting excited, I really missed Mackenzie.

"I'm gonna go and have a bath ash, bye" I said leaving his room and heading towards the bathroom, "IM GOING IN A BATH" I shouted before going in and locking the door, running the hot water tap and putting the plug in, waiting for it to fill up. Once the bath was filled with water and bubbles, I took my clothes off and hopped in, getting my phone and opening up the Netflix app, finding a film to watch while relaxing in the bath.

"Ash, make sure you tell Kenzie that you know me and ask if she remembers me" I said, "I know Kayla, you've told me a million times" Ashton said laughing, I chuckled, "I know I just wanna know if she remembers me, okay I'm leaving now, bye ash" I said walking downstairs, "Bye Anne, bye dad" I said walking out the door and meeting Luke, "Hey Luke" I said smiling, "You look lovely Kayla" Luke said, "Thank you Luke, so where are we going?" I asked, "Its a surprise" he said, "As always" I said laughing, "And I didn't use google for this date" Luke said smiling, showing off his sparkling teeth, "We have matching lip rings" I said laughing, "I only just realised that" he said, I chuckled as we stopped outside an adventure golf course with a bowling alley and an arcade.

"I am so bad at golf" I said as we ordered one game of adventure golf and one game of bowling,"Yeah that's alright, so am I" he said, I chuckled as we made our way towards the course.

"You go first" I said, "Okay, you're gonna end up winning though" Luke said, "I doubt that, I am shit at this game" I said laughing as Luke took his shot, and then his next shot, it took him 3 shots until he got it in. "Your turn" Luke said stepping to the side, "Oh god this is gonna be bad" I said laughing as I swung at the ball and made it roll closer to the hole, I took another shot, and another and then one more until it finally went in, "Woohoo! That only took me 4 shots" I said laughing, Luke chuckled as we moved on to the second one.

After about an hour we had went around all 18 of the holes, taking our shots until we got them in, "Let's add up the scores and see who won" I said, "Okay, give me your phone then" Luke said, I unlocked it and handed him it, waiting for him to say who won. "There was 2 points of a difference, I just bet you" he said, "We are both so bad at this game" I said laughing, Luke nodded while laughing, "Remind me never to come here again" he said, "Yeah me too" I said, "Let's go bowling now" he said, "Now this game I will kick your ass at" I said, "Probably, I can't play bowling" he said laughing, his laugh was cute, "Is there a game you can play?" I asked laughing, "Im pretty good at Fifa, and football(soccer)" he said, I chuckled, "I am shit at those" I said laughing, "Max used to always ask me to play Fifa but I always lost" I added, he chuckled and quickly changed the subject.

"Ha in your face, I totally beat you" I said, "Yeah I told you, I'm bad at bowling, lets go to the arcade for a little while, its only 4" Luke said, I nodded and followed him towards the arcade where we played air hockey against each other, I won a game and lost a game.

After about a half hour we decided to go back, we were in Luke's car in front of my house, "Thank you Luke, I had a really good day again" I said, "So did I Kayla, I um, I, good bye" he said looking puzzled, I sighed inwardly but smiled on the outside, "Good bye Luke" I said kissing his cheek and getting out the car, heading up to the house.

"How was your day honey? We have a guest joining us for dinner, Ashton's date" Anne said, "It was great Anne, and is she here yet?" I asked, "Her and Ashton are upstairs" she said, I nodded and headed upstairs, I knocked of Ashton's door, "Come in" he shouted, I opened the door and smiled at Kenzie, "Kayla?" She asked, "Kenzie" I said smiling as she leaped off Ashton's bed and engulfed me in a hug, "You have no idea how much I missed you and then when we lost contact it was so bad and I hated it here and everyone was so mean cause I was English and not Australian, I was like 'wow this could be classed as racism' but then I was like 'wow I miss Kayla' and now you're here" she gushed, I smiled as I hugged her again, "I have actually missed you so much Kenzie" I said chuckling.

We finally let go of each other when Anne shouted us down for dinner, the three of us heading downstairs, "We have to go out and catch up Kenzie" I said, "Definitely, give me your number, plus Ashton and I are like at a weird stage right now, we're not dating officially but we're not friends so we'll see each other a lot anyway, plus we can see each other whenever" she said, in case you haven't noticed, Kenzie talks a lot.

"I understand Kenzie, okay put your number in" I said handing her my phone, "Oooh, is that Luke Hemmings you've been texting, oooooh there better not be any naughty texts in there miss Jepson" Kenzie said as she scrolled through them. I blushed so much, Anne was chuckling away and my dad didn't know what to do meanwhile Ashton and Kenzie were scrolling through all my texts to Luke. There wasn't anything 'naughty' to be found but it was embarrassing since we were at that 'awkward' stage, much like Ashton and Kenzie were.

"Is everyone enjoying their dinner?" Anne asked once I had successfully got my phone back, "Yes Anne it's lovely" I said, "Its really good Anne" Kenzie said, "We've missed you Kenzie, it doesn't seem like four years ago you left, it feels so much shorter" dad said, "I know, it's flew in" Kenzie said. "I say we have a girly night tonight Kenzie" I said, "Sure, we can do our nails and eat chocolate and watch chick flicks and talk about people" she said, I nodded while laughing, some people never change.

"Oh guess what" I said, "Max is coming over in 2 weeks" I said, Kenzie smiled, "I haven't saw him in ages, is he still gay?" Kenzie asked, I laughed, "Yes Kenzie, I think he has a boyfriend actually, Dylan" I said, "No way? Is he gay? I used to have the biggest crush on him ever" she said, I burst out laughing, "I have totally missed this" she said, "Me too" I said, "We'll be in my room, bye" I said as Kenzie, Ashton and I headed upstairs, "Sorry ash but I'm stealing Kenzie because she loves me and we're secret lesbian lovers" I said, "Yeah we are" Kenzie confirmed, "You have to call Luke and tell him I'm a lesbian with the girl you went on a date with and that it was love at first sight, wait we'll do it over FaceTime" I said getting very hyper.

I found Luke's contact in my phone and clicked the FaceTime option, he answered within a few seconds, "Kayla? Why are you FaceTime-ING me?" he asked, "Luke I'm sorry to tell you this but you know that girl Ashton went on a date with?" I asked trying to control my laughter, "Uh, yeah. Mackenzie was it?" he asked, "Yeah, she goes by Kenzie though, anyway that's not all, well I have to tell you something" I said, I was dying to burst out laughing, "Well I kind of realised I prefer girls and well, we kind of fell in love and we're lovers, I'm sorry you had to find out this way" I said bursting into a fit of laughter, "Really Kayla? That's the best you could think of, sorry Luke she's an asshole, she still wants you, bye" Kenzie said hanging up before we both burst into even more laughter.

I was so happy right now. Nothing was gonna ruin this.
