Lewis
He had arranged it all; she was going to arrive at his house at six thirty. Lewis called Nate over to help him set everything up.
“Look, all I’m saying is that lanterns are cheesy, go for plain candles, there is not a breath of wind outside so it’ll be perfect.” said Nate.
“Mmmhm...” Lewis agreed. Nate was a great friend; he who had only ever had one girlfriend still knew how to be romantic. One by one Lewis lit the candles outside of his house.
“Well, I best be going,” Nate said as he checked his watch, “you have two minutes to fix your hair and do any finishing touches. See you later man.”
“Thanks a heap, Nate.” Lewis jogged upstairs and into his room.
“Alright, my room is clean, not that it matters really, hair…check, breath…check, clothes…check.” Lewis said to himself as he studied his reflection in the mirror. He felt butterflies in his stomach and took a deep breath in and out. The doorbell rang only a minute later.
“Coming!” he shouted from his room and did one last check in the mirror before running downstairs again.
Lewis turned the doorknob and took in a breath as he opened the door. He quickly lost his breath when he saw Hayley standing in a slim red dress hugging her body tightly.
“Hayley, you, you look breathtaking. I didn't think it was possible for a girl to look better than you did last time I saw you, but you pulled it off today.” At that, he leaned over and kissed her cheek.
“Why thank you, you look very handsome yourself.” Hayley flashed a sweet smile. Lewis took her hand and led her inside.
“Where are we going?” Hayley asked Lewis and before she could look around he grabbed her shoulders and spun her around to face him.
“I almost forgot!” Lewis grabbed a piece of black material off of the table in the entrance hall.
“This is a surprise so no peeking.” He said as he tied it over her eyes, making sure she couldn’t see and kissed her neck softly and got a nose full of her sweet perfume.
“Ooh a blindfold, you’re lucky I trust you.” She reached out to find Lewis. He ran around to her front and grabbed her hands and closed his around them. She looks super sexy with a blindfold on. He thought.
“Come on, this way...” He led her by her hands towards the lounge and then let go of her hands to push her from behind.
“Lou, where are you? Don’t let go of me like that!” She exclaimed. He placed his hands on her hips and moved her to the couch. Her fingertips brushed against the rough of his jaw sending chills down his spine. He sat her down slowly and carefully.
“Precious cargo.” He whispered into her ear. Hayley giggled softly to herself.
“I’ll be right back, don’t move, okay?” he added and hurried off into the kitchen. He returned with a bowl full of buttery popcorn, dimmed the lights in the lounge and sat down next to Hayley. Slowly, he run his fingers around her chain on her neck and untied the blindfold. Hayley opened her eyes and looked around her sceptically.
“Lewis, we’re in your loun...” he put a finger to her lips and said,
“We are at the movies, got the best seats in the house.” Hayley smiled at him.
“You are so cute.”
