Lewis
Soon after Lewis had taken his mother to the doctor he arrived home to an unfamiliar face sitting, waiting on the porch steps. She smiled a big toothy grin at him and stood to give him a brief hug, and turned to his mother.
“Mrs Parker,”
“It’s Ms.” His mother replied weakly.
“Oh, please forgive me. I heard you weren’t well so I brought you these...” She handed her a bouquet of yellow roses,
“I hope you like them.” She smiled sincerely.
“It’s very sweet of you, Dear. Thank you.” Lewis helped his mother up the steps and into the house,
“Thank you, Lou, I can manage from here.” Karla followed closely behind Lewis and chirped up from behind him,
“Aw, Lou, that’s cute. I think I’ll call you that from now on.
“Only my mom and Hayley call me Lou.” He replied harshly.
“Oh, Hayley... Still with her are you?” she said with a tinge of envy in her voice.
“Look Karla, it was very nice of you to come but what are you really here for?”
“Whatever do you mean Lewis? I was really, genuinely concerned about your mother.” She cocked her head to the side and squinted at him, looking awfully sarcastic.
“You and I both know that that isn’t true Karla.”
“Hmmm... ‘You and I’ that has a ring to it, don’t you think Lou?”
“No, Karla, I really don’t.”
“Oh come now, don’t be so uptight, relax a little, you must be so stressed out, never getting some leisure time?” She whispered, alternating from ear to ear. She put her hands on his shoulders and started massaging them gently.
“Karla...” Lewis started but was soon interrupted by Karla.
“Shhh, Shoosh. Come on; let’s go up to your room so we can talk more privately.”
“Ahh, I’d rather we didn’t, why can’t we talk here?” he argued but it was too late, Karla was already tugging him up, off the couch and up the stairs, gripping his hand tightly. Lewis couldn’t help but notice how unbelievably pretty Karla looked in her little lilac sundress. No, this is wrong, you love Hayley, HAYLEY! Not Karla. He thought as he caught himself staring at her. She sat down on the edge of his bed and pulled his desk chair to right in front of her. There was nowhere else to sit and he certainly didn’t want to sit next to her on the bed, things could only go badly from there. He slowly sat on the desk chair and moved it back significantly from Karla. She slid her hands over her thighs to her knees and leaned forward, resting her chin on her fingers.
“So, wh-, what did you want to talk about again?” Lewis swallowed nervously.
“Oh, ummm...” Karla trailed off and bit on her bottom, over-glossed lip. “I totally forgot... Ooh, ow! OW!!” she yelled and grabbed her eye, closing it and opening it, making it water.
“Are you alright?” Lewis asked half-heartedly.
“No, I think I have something in my eye, check it for me please.” Lewis leaned in closer to look at her eye and she hooked him in a headlock kind of position and kissed him excitedly, she pushed at his lips with her tongue to try and get into his mouth but Lewis kept it shut tight. He pushed Karla back and heard the sound of their lips pop as he did so.
“What do you think you are doing, Karla?”
“Oh, come on Babe, you can’t deny the fiery passion between us.”
“Fiery passion?!” Lewis raged. “I think it would be best if you left Karla. Please.” He got up and opened his bedroom door.
“Aww, just when we started having some fun.” The words oozed from her cherry red lips.
“Now!” Lewis bellowed.
“Okay, okay, see you later Sweetie.” She patted his face and brushed past him on her way out.
“What just happened?” he asked himself, “Hayley, Hayley mustn’t find out!”
