Lewis
Okay, so maybe tackling Nate to the ground and punching him wasn’t such a great idea. Lewis winced as the school nurse dabbed some antiseptic cream on his busted lip. A low growl caught in his throat.
“Oh, quit your moaning. Whose fault is it that you have a busted lip?” she scowled. Lewis rolled his eyes and glanced over at Nate, his face was red in the area that Lewis had hit him. He felt a sense of pride that he had actually done some sort of damage to him. Nate grunted and looked away. Clearly annoyed.
“I’m sorry.” Lewis said, so quietly it was barely even a whisper.
“What?” Nate bellowed and snapped his head around to look at Lewis. Lewis cleared his throat and repeated,
“I said, I’m sorry.”
“For what? I deserved that.” Nate shrugged. Typical Nate, taking the blame for everything.
“No, you didn’t Nate.” Lewis admitted. Nate nodded and then shook his head, glancing at the floor and then back at Lewis, his eyes were filled with different emotions.
“I stole your ex, what kind of a best friend does that? Bro-code? Out the window mate."
“I should be the one apologising here. I am so sorry.” He finally said and then looked back down at the floor.
“Okay, so maybe you did deserve that.” Lewis joked and there was an uncomfortable silence.
“Lou, I’m so sorry.” Nate said getting up off the plastic seat upon which he had been sitting and walked towards the window. He sighed heavily and looked out at the sports field. Lewis frowned,
“It’s alright, it wasn’t really working out between us anyway...” Nate turned from the window and looked at Lewis.
“I didn’t want us to end up like this, a complete mess. I miss my best friend.” He chuckled and smiled weakly at Lewis.
“I do too, it’s been bugging me the whole day, that’s half the reason I tackled you, you know?” Lewis shook his head and thought about how stupid his plan actually was, “I want my best friend back.” Nate smirked and clapped Lewis on the shoulder. Lewis grimaced; it was the shoulder that Nate had rammed into the floor when he pinned him down. Rubbing his arm, Lewis turned to Nate and smiled.
“So, only half the reason huh?” Nate raised an eyebrow. “What’s the other half then?” Lewis laughed and shook his head.
“I was mad at you, but let’s move on from that okay?” Nate nodded his head and smiled.
