Here's another pointless rant for yall! My friend recently asked me to define love. Actually he's my ex but he and I are still great friends. I think that just because you break up with someone, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to cut all ties. I have friendships with every guy I ever had anything with. I'm off topic again. Back to the question!
At first I was thrown for a loop assuming he meant something along the lines of an object or something. Of course my response was tacos because let's face it, tacos are love and it's as simple as that.... But then I got to thinking. I mean really thinking and analyzing what love truly means. So then I replied again and said this to him "The dictionary defines love as cherishing something; to hold it dear but I disagree. I mean that's just not what I think of when I hear the word love. Sure, when you love something or mainly someone you do cherish them but that definition is too clean. Too generic. Love is a complex and messy emotion. Love means your heart skips a beat; you can't breathe when you imagine not being with that special someone. It means that one person could build you up and then break you down in less than 10 words. It's beautiful and scary and awful but wonderful all in the same. I've never been in love but I don't think love can be defined. Not really. I have love in my life but that's a different kind of love. Love isn't a singular emotion or feeling. I love my family and I love my friends but it's not the same love; is it? I could probably write a book over just the word love." To which his reply was basically "That's great and all but I was just asking cause I had been eating pizza and that's what love is. Not tacos but pizza." For the record LOVE IS tacos NOT PIZZA and he was clearly dropped on his head too many times as an infant.
Honestly, you know you agree with me.
