Chapter 23

Jakes POV

The sun shone through my curtains as I got up, ready to start the day. I hopped over Erika and kissed her on the cheek, causing her to wake up. I then walked downstairs and grabbed a bunch of ice. After lugging the ice upstairs I burst into Tessa's room, only to find an empty bed. Puzzled, I walked into the ratchets room, and Chance was missing too. I woke up the Martinez twins and than Anthony.

Ivan-"No man, stop, this is not cool, I want to sleep."

Emilio-"yeah"

Anthony jumped up and screamed "OHIO"! He began to dump more ice on Emilio and Ivan.

Chances POV

Ding! Ding! Ding! My phone was blowing up! I rolled over and Remembered where I was. At the beach, sleeping with Tessa. While sitting up I realized that I was soaking wet! It was high tide and all the blankets and pillows were wet.

Chance-"Tessa.... Tessa wake up!"

Tessa-"ugh what babe?"

Aw she called me babe. She must be really tired.

Chance-" the ocean soaked everything. We have to go back to the team team house."

Tessa woke up and I starred at her. She rolled on top of me and looked into my eyes.

Tessa-"you know I would love it if we were friends..."

What? I thought she liked me.

Tessa-" you know, with a wink emoji, and a sly face, and maybe a heart."

Chance-"you know, I like that idea."

I didn't even care that I was wet, or that my phone was buzzing. All I cared about was Tessa.

Tessa's POV

I got off of Chance and began to pick up the blankets. We carried all of them to Chances truck, carefully placing them in the back.

When we pulled into the driveway o walked in first, and than 5 minutes later Chance walked in. When I walked in I was greeted by Jake asking where I was.

Jake-"So where were you?"

Tessa-"I went for a run and got a smoothie. Why?"

Jake-"no reason, just wondering"

But when Chance walked in the mood complete changed. Anthony got off the couch and Jake and him patted Chance on the back, asking how his food was...

Tessa-"what do you mean by food?"

Anthony gave Chance a look. Chance nodded.

Anthony-"So back in Ohio, whenever Chance, Jake or I went to a girls house, we hold say we were "getting food."

Tessa-"Oh okay."

I began to walk upstairs to my room. All those times Chance went out for food alone.... he was with girls. My heart sunk. Did he do this while I was in the hospital, while I was almost raped, or before our sushi dinner? Thoughts flooded to my head. Was I just another one of those girls? Did he really even like me? I began to cry as I fell onto my bed.  He didn't like me, he just wanted to get lucky without leaving the house... he used me.
