~Mitch's POV~
~time rewind when Winta catches wave~
"You go Winta!" Jerome yelled in encouragement. Everyone's eyes were fixed on Winta, except for Adam's and mine. There was something in the distance, only a few yards from Hannah, and it was something big.
And it was coming straight at her. Adam realized at once what it was.
"HANNAH! GET OUT OF THE WATER! NOW!!! THERE'S A SHARK!!!" Adam yelled. I waved my hands, in case Hannah didn't hear. She needed to know she HAD to get to shore. And fast.
Hannah started towards us as fast as she could.
Not fast enough.
The shark was right behind her and....
it latched onto her arm.
It dug into her arm, and instantly, the water for feet all around was soaked with blood. The water was bright red.
Jerome sprinted down the shore towards the jet-skis bobbing with the waves. He hopped on one, and took off towards Hannah.
Thank goodness that guy can think fast.
He hauled Hannah's unconscious body onto the back of the jet ski. He strapped her in, and tore off towards shore. Adam had already dialed 9-1-1, and the sirens could be heard in the distance.
Winta was crying into Jason's sleeve, and he was doing all he could to calm her down.
Jerome took Hannah and carried her up to the parking lot to meet up with the ambulance.
We got in the truck to follow Adam and Hannah in the ambulance.
We got there in no time flat, thank goodness. We sat in the waiting room, and when Hannah was wheeled past on a stretcher, Adam starting crying uncontrollably.
Alesa whimpered, and Jerome sighed and stared at the ground.
I stared at Hannah being taken away to the emergency room. Her eyes stared off to nowhere. They were almost glazed over with fear.
Her whole arm was gone. The stretcher was bloody. The doctor came into the waiting room after what seemed like hours.
"Adam Dahlberg?" the doctor called.
"That's me," Adam stood up, and wiped the tears from his eyes.
"You daughter's alive, but in very critical condition..."
