CHAPTER 7

Skyler walked down the halls of school with Sandra beside her. She couldn't help, but feel people's glares with intensity at her. She felt tense and clammy as suddenly a reassuring voice rang in her ears. She jerked her head around and found John walking quickly up to her with a big smile.

“Hey, Skyler.”

Skyler smiled as her tense muscles slowly relaxed as she spoke,

“Hey.”

Sandra waved as John smiled and waved back. She then whispered into Skyler's ear,

“Remember relax.”

Skyler nodded as she then left to her locker leaving both John and Skyler alone in the middle of the hallway as everyone then turned and minded their own business. Skyler watched as all the stares vanished as she then looked puzzled and confused. Was there something on her face that made them stare to the point she felt totally awkward. If so Sandra would have said something. No, that couldn't be it if so then John wouldn't be smiling at her the way he was now.

“So you want to go off campus for lunch today.” said John as he wrapped his arm around her and began to pull her with him as they began to walk to class.

Skyler tilled her head and looked up at him and smiled,

“Sure.”

“Okay how does a sandwich sound.”

“Perfect.” said Skyler as he smiled and slowly moved his arm down her lower back and made its way around her waist.

She took in a deep breath as she looked up at him and watched how eyes seemed so kind and handsome. She loved him, so why would she doubt that just for a stupid card reading her mother gave her.

Suddenly the bell rang and they both walked into English class together. As they entered the class room something caught her eyes plus all the girls attention. She then adjusted her eyes and saw a boy around his late teens leaning against the back wall of the room. John also too seemed confused as the boy slowly looked up from the ground to Skyler and John.

He was handsome, every feature perfect like a god. He was tall with a hop ear piercing and an eyebrow piercing. He was well built and strong. His dark tanned skin seemed to radiance from the glow of the morning sun shinning down on him. Skyler couldn't keep her eyes of him as he then smiled and looked away from her as John looked annoyed and grabbed Skyler by the hand and pulled her to her desk that sat next to his. She took her seat as she felt his stare once again on her.

Suddenly an old woman who appeared to be in her late fifties entered the class room. She wore a plaid brown skirt and a large cotton white blouse. She then set her books on her desk that sat on the far corner of the room and then walked up to the front of the class room and looked up at the boy in the back leaning against the wall. She sighed and said,

“Everyone we have guest today. This young man in the far back has come to teach us a little about Roman and Greek Mythology. He is currently a first year student from UCLA and has come so far to volunteer to teach high school students the different types of historical writing.”
