CHAPTER 12
Skyler stood still in her living room using her every sense to feel the presence again. She even used her sixth sense. She focused her mind to feel any movement of vibration of another person's mind. That was one of her many skills. The truth was Skyler could read minds as well as teleporting herself to any location she chose in the whole world. The day she meet her grandmother after her father's funeral was the first time she had ever teleported herself. Now she had done it, but this time it wasn't in secret, someone had provoked her into showing her mysterious power.
“This isn't good.” whispered Skyler to herself as her mind then aimed directly into the kitchen where she heard the thoughts of another person within the house.
There must be another clue around here somewhere?
Skyler's instincts kicked in again. She moved slowly to the stair case where she found a box filled with her old sports equipment. A long wood soft ball bat sat next to the box with the handle upward. Skyler slid her hand down the neck of the soft ball bat and held it tightly as she brought it up to her chest. The hard wood felt perfect in her hands as she knew well how to use it. Now she was glad her mother forced her to take soft ball in middle school. Her mother was always the biggest San Francisco Giants fan in the family.
She moved slowly through the hallway that lead to the kitchen with the bat gripped tightly in her hands. As she moved the white flinging door slowly, she stepped forward looking from side to side for any sign of movement. As she took another step closer to the kitchen table the sound of footsteps startled her and someone bumped into her that pushed her over one of the table chairs and landed on her back hard. The pain of blood rushing to her back made a throbbing sensation that made her yell. As she tried to feel the bat she noticed it to be missing from her hands. How could that be, she held on to it very tightly anyone would have trouble trying to pull it away from her.
Suddenly a voice flew gently through her ears,
“So I did get the right house. You alright?”
The voice was very familiar. She jerked her head up and found Vitcus standing over her with a concerned look on his face and the bat in his hand. She looked stunned as he then reached his hand out to her as she looked from him then to his left hand where she noticed a sun tattoo printed on the palm of his hand.
Skyler looked puzzled as she then took his hand and stood up.
“Sorry if I scared you, I just could stand there and have you wake me in the head with a bat.” said Vitcus holding up the bat as Skyler stepped back and gave Vitcus a mean look.
“What the hell are you doing in my house!!” said Skyler loudly as she looked even more pissed.
“Ugh- About that well you see. . .” said Vitcus as he then looked all around the house and said,
“What's up with all the boxes?”
“Don't change the subject! Answer my question!” insisted Skyler that made Vitcus nervous.
