This shouldn't have happened.
This could've been prevented.
If you had just listened to him and stayed in the hotel room, he'd be fine.
That's not what happened though, you were stubborn and driven. A werewolf? Child's play. You went along with the two brothers on their hunt and got cocky.
You didn't mean for it to happen but you tried to take the werewolf out at point blank. The gun jammed. In an instant, you thought you were as good as dead. Dean though. Dean wouldn't let that happen.
Seeing his chest getting ripped into again had been horrifying. As if the death hounds hadn't been enough.
Sam was quick to get it off of him and the damn thing ran off, so here you were with Dean, bleeding out in your arms.
This shouldn't have happened.
"Dean!" You called out as you held him, there was blood dribbling down his cheek and his eyes were wide with shock. You turned your head, tears over flowing your eyes and looked over at Sam for help. He was pretty shocked to as he bent down and inspected the wound.
"Shit, we need Cas or, fuck we need to get him stitched up," Sam said while looking at the mess. Your hands were stained red and the smell of iron filled the musky air, almost choking you.
"I'll stay with Dean, we shouldn't move him. Try to get into contact with Castiel and bring a medical kit." You said, your voice shaking as you spoke and Sam nodded. You don't think you've ever seen him run that fast before.
You looked down at Dean who tried to speak, only to begin hacking up blood and his breathing was heavy. You began running your hand against his cheek in a soothing manner. You had to calm him down. If he was hyperventilating it would only make him die faster.
"It's okay Dean, you don't have to talk. Just relax I'm here." You said as you continued rubbing his cheek, as first you were shocked at seeing the bloody hand print but swallowed the fear down. He couldn't see it, so it didn't matter. He needed to relax.
He didn't say anything, thankfully, and you began humming a small tune. Hey Jude. something you knew he'd appreciate. You watched him relax a bit, his eyes looking calm and for a moment you were thankful. When his body began to sag, however, the fear set in.
"Dean." You said, shaking him slightly but he didn't respond, his eyes closed and he looked to be lifeless, "Dean! Wake up! Dean! Please don't leave me alone."
You sat there, in the dark alley way, with the man you never told you loved, lying lifeless in your arms. How fate was a cruel mistress.
This shouldn't have happened, but that doesn't mean anything now. It happened, and what was done was done.

Short, angsty one-shot requested by @thedragonstuff who for some odd reason wanted the angst and for those of you who are like me and cry like a little bitch with angst just continue reading after the authors note for an alternate ending to make us feel a bit better about our lives.

Two weeks had come and gone since the incident and here you were, sitting next to Dean on the bed while he went through some research. After what happened you refused to leave his side for even a minute. Hell, it was hard to pry you away from him when he went to the restroom.
You felt guilty like it was all your fault. If Castiel hadn't come when he did, it would've been the end for Dean.
You didn't realize Dean was calling your name until a hand waved in front of your face and he called you again, though a bit more questioning. You snapped in awareness and looked at him.
"Oh, need something?" You asked and he gave you an odd look that you weren't sure meant he was annoyed or angry.
"You need to rest, you have bags under your eyes. Why haven't you been sleeping?" Dean asked and you shrugged your shoulders as if you didn't know.
"Just a lot of things on my mind." like how Dean almost died because you were being stubborn and cocky and now you have to reevaluate everything in your life.
"Like what?" he asked, clearly worried about your well being and you once again shrugged.
"It's just that...I almost got you killed Dean. I don't know what I would've done if you died." You said and rested your head on his shoulder and he finally realized you had put the blame on yourself.
"First off, it wasn't your fault. I didn't have to jump in front of the werewolf because you would've been fine. I got worried and did it without thinking. Second off, we all know I couldn't die even if I wanted to. The damn angels would pull me back to do more of their bidding." Dean said and the last part got a small laugh out of you before you turned back to him.
"Still Dean, I love you and I don't know..." You said and then noticed you accidentally confessed and covered your mouth, a blush spreading across your cheeks. Dean, changing the atmosphere suddenly, had a boyish smirk on his face and pulled you closer so your head was against his chest.
"It's about time you admitted it, I love you too. Not stop worrying, like I said it wasn't your fault." He said and poked you on the forehead.
"Fine, just...let's promise not to do anything stupid again that would jeopardize either of our lives." You said and he soon agreed. With that you were finally able to fall asleep in his arms, not having to think about the incident anymore.
