You sat silently as you watched the door to your room at the bunker. It had been a late night for you and your insomnia was making it hard for you to fall asleep. Truth be told it was rather annoying, but you made the most of it by sitting down and contemplating everything and anything.

You weren’t the type of person who went to others when they had a problem. You were the type to silently suffer, even from mental and physical conditions. Of course the Winchester brother’s didn’t know about your little insomnia fiasco, nor did your best friend Castiel.

You started to think about the angel. He was currently teaching you Enochian. It was fun and all, but you absolutely sucked at it. Although because of him teaching you, the two of you had become very close in the past couple months and it was comforting. Truth be told you had a small crush on the angel but were too shy to actually tell him.

You jotted up once you heard a nocking at your door. You got up and unlocked the door and saw Castiel standing there. “I saw your light was still on, Y/N.” Castiel says awkwardly and you smiled. “Um ya…just having some trouble sleeping is all.” You say calmly. “I’ve noticed your light is rarely off. Every night it goes off for only an hour at most.” Castiel said and you nodded.

"Just trouble sleeping is all, really." You said with a fake chuckle and Castiel frowned. "I don’t believe you, Y/N. You can’t lie to me." Castiel said in a stern voice. You paused for a moment before frowning. "Fine you caught me…I have insomnia." You mumbled the last part and Castiel’s face for a more serious look to it.

"Why haven’t you told any of us?" Castiel asked you and you shrugged. "It never came up?" You said with a shrug. "You need to sleep, Y/N." Castiel said and you let out a small breath and nodded. "I know I do, I can’t though." You said in a calm voice.

"Come on." Castiel said before walking into your room. He stopped at your bed and you walked into it. "Lay down." Castiel said and you did as told, cuddling into the soft and warm blankets. "Okay, I do this every night and it doesn’t seem to help you know." You say while looking at him.

"Dean told me that as a kid his mother would sing to him." Castiel said and you looked over at him with a smile. "You don’t have to sing Cas, although maybe a story would be nice." You said and he nodded. "Fine, I’ll tell you a story then." He began.

"And please nothing biblical like Adam and Eve or perhaps Noah’s Arc. Tell a fun story from your own experience." You say while rolling over to face him. He nodded before swallowing. "Let’s see, a know this one story I guess." Castiel said. "Okay, tell me it." You said with a soft smile.

"It’s a story about the stars I think. I remember once Anna and I had been in heaven and we were just looking at the stars and she told me how every star was formed by god. He made each one to symbolize each person who was being born and made pictures with them. Each picture told a different story." Castiel said and you let out a yawn.

"Any other stories?" You asked. "I know of one more story, but it’s not from my experience." Cas said before looking at you. "There once was an angel of the lord who had fallen from heaven." Castiel started. "Kind of like you in a way." You commented and he nodded.

"When he fell he was originally doing what his heart was telling him, but he slowly started to feel emotions that humans felt." Castiel said and you started to think that maybe he was telling a story about himself. "Then one day the angel found a girl, she was so beautiful that not even a sky full of stars could compare to even an inch of her." Castiel went on and you seemed more interested although you were also getting a bit tired.

"He had always admired this girl because she was so strong and kind to others. Sadly he had never gotten his chance to tell her his feelings. Not yet anyway. He hoped that one day he’d be able to tell her but…" Cas then paused. "But what?" You asked in a tired voice.

"He’s afraid the girl would run away from him." He finished. "Then she would be a fool to run away from such a kind and sweet angel." You said while snuggling up against the pillow. "Do you really think that?" Castiel asked. "Of course I do. I mean what if the girl in the story also loved the angel but she was afraid he would run away?" You asked him.

"That would be a bit sad. But do you think if the angel were to tell the girl he loved her then she’d so easily return his feelings? Would you?" Cas asked you with a slight blush.

"Cas, can I tell you a secret?" You asked him while motioning him closer to you. He leaned a bit closer and you smiled. "I really love you, ya know." You say with a small smile. Cas froze for a moment before placing a small chastised kiss on your lips.

"I love you too, Y/N." Castiel said and you smiled. "Will you stay with me, I feel like I can sleep if you’re by my side." You said and he paused before nodding. You felt him get into the covers and you snuggled into his chest. "Goodnight, Castiel." You say while kissing his chin that was right on top of your head. You fell asleep slowly after that. Once you were asleep Catiel kissed the top of your head. "Goodnight Y/N." He said before relaxing. For the first time in many nights you slept.
