School ended quite earlier than you're used to, but perhaps it's just that the school clock was always advanced compared to your wrist watch. Waiting at your usual spot for your childhood friend to appear, you checked your phone from time-to-time for at least a single text message to hint that he isn't coming. You're by a lamp post that's located on the street that intersects your route with Midoriya, still waiting for the said greenette.
While doing so, wind came by, making your (h/c) sway along to its direction; but you made sure that it should at least cover half of your face-- the side where Bakugou made his hit.
Ever since that incident, a scar formed on your burnt skin, forever marking it in place. To you, it's now a symbol of your time weakness. But for Izuku, it reminded him of how the world works-- how he is so defenseless when it comes to other people with powerful quirks. Shaking your thoughts off from the depressing memory, you decided to read some short stories from your phone.
When you had enough radiation from the gadget, you checked your career aspiration document distributed by your teacher earlier from class. Personally, you have no plans on getting to any of them, due to the fact that you want to be part of the hero section. So, this paper was basically useless, resulting for you to throw it in a nearby trash can.
You were starting to grow impatient with the freckled boy, until you recognized the familiar shade of his jade hair from a distance, making you sigh in relief. For a second there, you thought something might have happened to him, but based from the way he walks, perhaps something did. You've known him enough to study and memorize his habitual body language and mannerisms.
"Izu-kun! You alright?" You ran up to him, both hands on the straps of your backpack to lessen your burden.
"A-ah! Oh, (Y/n)-chan, gaggh! I'm so sorry I kept you waiting!" He exclaimed, doing weird spasms with his hands. "But I--"
"Woah, and why does your hair seem messier than usual? And did you just cry?" Noticing his get-up, you confirmed your thoughts that something really did happen. Knitting your eyebrows, you assumed it to be one of his daily struggles in his life. "It's Bakugou, again, isn't it?" Midoriya noticed the sudden dimness in your voice, making him give out an uneasy laugh.
"Heh, uhh... sort of..? It's... Today's been complicated for me," He sighed, eyes back on the road, as the two of you started walking.
"If only I'm at the same school as you, then maybe I can tell them off to leave you alone. I wouldn't mind the distance from my house, if it means I get to go there with you," You stated, making the male's cheeks flare up with bashfulness and embarrassment.
"W-what?! H-ha! I-it's-- you don't have to, I can... take care of myself..." He trailed off, as he stared at your giggling form, making him completely hold his tongue from his own humiliation.
"Hah, yeah... I bet they'd just make fun of you more if you're being defended by a girl like me. I may not be your defense, but I'd always and gladly be your support; so, you can tell me anything that's bothering your mind," You reassured, giving him one of your well-known genuine smiles.
"You're a good friend, (Y/n)-chan," He uttered out, returning your smile with a dust of pink hinting on his freckled cheeks.
"So, you gonna tell me what's going on..?" You urged with expectant eyes, getting ready to hold yourself from strangling a certain blonde if you were to meet him sometime soon.
"Have you heard of the incident earlier? The one with the slime-thing?" He asked, his eyes finding interest on the ground.
"Yeah? What about it?" You ushered on, making the boy inhale before answering.
