Chapter 25

        "So, today's the day, huh..." You uttered quietly to yourself, as you observed your classmates prepare for the long-awaited Sports Festival. You wanted to talk to Izuku to ease your nerves, but then, your anxiety might just rub off on him-- not quite helping either of you. Ever since you stepped into the waiting room, you can't help the nervousness building up within you, especially after knowing the fact that you'd be against all your classmates-- your friends are no exception. And the damn fireworks exploding outside only seemed to make it worse, and it reminded you that this was a grand event.

"Anxious?" Tsuyu inquired, before offering you a water bottle, to which you gladly accepted.

"Haha, yeah... Can't believe I have to fight you guys." You stated, before drinking the given drink. "I'm not one for violence, especially to my friends. Can't they just, I don't know, let us fight robots instead?"

"No offense, but I find you too naive for your own good," The human frog remarked bluntly, making you look at her with creased eyebrows. "You're too innocent, and I fear that you might get influenced too simply,"

"... Hah?" Suddenly, Ochako came in, interrupting your conversation with Tsuyu. "Oh, hey Ocha-chan,"

"Hey guys! You ready?!" She greeted enthusiastically, her aura filled with euphoria, as you stared at her with disbelief.

"You're not tense at all?!" You exclaimed, before she scratched the back of head and looked away from your eye contact.

"W-well, I kinda am," She admitted in defeat, before replacing her small pout with a bright grin. "But I'm excited nonetheless!" There are just times that you envy Ochako's spirit and confidence, but then again, her ambience could easily alter anyone's mood.

"If that's the case, then I guess I wish you two good luck!" You exclaimed, cheering for you two female friends as they nodded their heads in agreement, before wishing you the same. They basically helped you uplift the tensions roaming around in your head, making you breath more comfortably. And you finally felt at ease... Or so you thought.

"(L/n)." A familiar monotonous voice called out, making you crane your neck to see the source of it.

"Oh? Todoroki-kun?" You were actually surprised that he was the first to initiate a conversation with you. It's either you talk or you don't communicate with him, at all. It was that difficult to talk to him (you know, cause you actually tried), and you were glad that he was finally opening up to you to make it easier for you to talk to him regarding his mother. "What's up?" You inquired with a smile, trying your best not mess this chance up.

"On an objective basis, I think I'm above you in terms of practical strength." Hah?? You were confused. By the way he was said it, it was as if he was trying to prove something, and it immediately wiped off the smile on your expectant face.

"Umm... Okay..?" Then, you realized that almost everyone's attention was on you, especially the ash blonde and the greenette.

"You've managed to gain All Might's special attention, right? Ranging from how long he's been staring at your name in the attendance sheet, to how often he's updated on your well-being," Wait, what? That's strange, you didn't quite notice either of that. But then again, he was looking out for Midoriya, and with you being closest to him, All Might would ought to be careful with you too-- especially that you're aware of the secret between them. You have to lure Todoroki away from the possibility of him thinking that Midoriya might be part of this too.

"H-honestly, I have no idea what you're talking about. In fact, I don't think it should be a business you have to pry on," Wait, shit-- that sounded suspicious and that you're trying to hide something! Hngh, you didn't expect that the conversation would be about this. You thought it was something along the lines of him wishing you good luck, or something.
