You exhaled out a breath, looking at the entrance gate of the arena with a doubtful aura. After what Monoma said to you, your thoughts have been clouded with unclear judgement towards your unknown male parent. You couldn't help but consider the blonde's opinion over this. But isn't it a bit funny?
You told two different blondes the same story, and yet they gave such contrasting feedbacks-- Bakugou and Monoma. One told you to be hopeful, while the other told you to be cynical-- both answers contrasting the personalities of their own owners if you think about it deeply.
Both had good points, but you feel as if Neito's opinion was more... realistic. Your credulity was tainted because of that, and now you had doubt filling in your guts-- it was unbearable. When you had high hopes, you once tell yourself that it's just you being optimistic, but really, you were naive. You blocked out ideas that wouldn't flow along with your ways.
You've worked so hard; you're now here at Yuuei because of your father. He's been your motivation ever since the age of three. Your hope in him coming back was what drove you to do your best, but you've never considered that...
What if he would never come back?
"H-hey, (Y/n)-chan," Your breath hitched momentarily before facing a certain greenette who approached you at the time you're about to face your first opponent, Kaminari. "Just passing by to say good luck on your first match, heh... I'm sure you got this. I hope to face you in a battle soon," He declared with a determined smile, as you looked at him with eyes of wonder and realization.
Your father may not have been there for you, but there were others who stuck by your side no matter the consequences. Once those people met you, they never left you, and supported you through the whole time since they've known you: Midoriya, Bakugou, Uraraka, Monoma-- everyone!
That includes your mother too.
Therefore, you'll stick by to what you ultimately aim for: to protect the people you love.
"Thanks, Izu-kun! Just don't lose your fights until I deal with you!" You stated confidently, after finally finding your newfound resolution. The answer has been so simple all along.
The freckled boy just nodded in acknowledgement before strolling his way towards the crowd seats, leaving you to your thoughts, waiting for Present Mic's upcoming announcement.
"FIRST FIGHT! She's placed high with her sheer will, might, and has been equipped with a convenient quirk; for all you know, she could be hiding half of her true potential like her hair covering the half of her face: (L/n)(Y/n) from the Heroes Department!" And that was your cue to move and head towards the center stage, but you were a bit stunned from the customized intro-- you're conflicted whether to be proud of it or embarrassed by it. "Versus the electrical charger, Kaminari Denki, who is also from the department of Heroes!" At the mention of the blonde's name, he just stood a good few feet away from you, as he adjusted his stance to seem more ready. After Present Mic enumerated all the rules, that's when he commenced the battle to: "STAAARTT!"
"Hey! Don't think I've forgotten the stunt you and Mineta pulled," You warned, a playful smirk finding its way to your lips.
"No hard feelings, right? Heh, you're cute n' all, but that doesn't mean I'll hold back. Maybe once we're done with all this, I could finally treat you to that (f/f)(favorite food) restaurant-- you owe me a date; remember our second day?" Kaminari inquired with a prideful smile, as sparks started dancing around his arms, charging its way towards his hands. "But for now..!" With the slam of his hands down to the ground, volts of electricity shot its way towards your position, as you were still on your ground-- as if you were unable to move, while your pupils dilated from the bright flash. "This will be over in a sec!"
