💕 LOVING SERIES BOOK 2 💕
Lucian Montenegro. That was the name that sent shivers down Manhattan's spine, yet fluttered the hearts of many women and induced hate in the people he bested.
Lucian Montenegro was the intelligent 26 year old CEO of Mon...
"Why are you late? Well no, not just 'oh I'm a few minutes late but who gives a damn' late, but you're 'oh I'm a badass and I didn't come to work until it was time for everybody's lunch break' late." Lucas scolded me as if I wasn't his boss.
"Last time I checked, I owned this business. I can come into work whenever I want." I went into my office and he followed suit, bringing his cup of Ramen noodles with him.
"Yeah, yeah. But really, why are you late?"
"Because ring shopping takes longer than I thought it would." I opened my laptop and went into my emails.
He was silent, and I glanced at him with my eyebrows raised at his sudden silence. The noodles had fallen out of his mouth and back into his cup, and I shook my head with a shrug. "Speak, man."
"You–you mean an—"
"Engagement ring, yes. Your point is?" I knew what his point was, but I didn't show it.
"When?" He spit out.
"I don't know yet. Just soon." I had an idea, but I didn't know if I'd be able to. The next seven months are going to be hectically busy with this new mall near Central Park.
"Her dad agree to that?" He asked.
"I don't think I need to ask, he and her mom are pressuring us just as much as my parents are. Her brothers might not agree, but Peyton can work that out on her own." I said. If I even bring up marrying Peyton to her brothers, I'll be dead the next minute. So Peyton's gotta do it.
"So what about children? Talk about that yet?"
I looked at him blankly. A chuckle escaped my lips, and soon it turned into a loud laugh. "Children? You're...you're hilarious, Lucas."
"You don't want children, Luc?" He threw his empty styrofoam cup of ramen noodles into my trashcan.
"Hell to the no. I do not like children. Children are little demons with adorable faces and all they do is eat, sleep, destroy you, and poop."
"But I want to be an uncle! Plus, your child doesn't have to be a little demon if you raise it right. You don't want to have a family with Peyton? You seem so head over heels I'm surprised you don't." He reasoned.
"Lucas. Don't put any ideas in my head. I'm thinking far enough in my future already. Let's take it one relationship milestone at a time." I chuckled. Children, are not my main focus now. When I marry Peyton, I'll think about that other stuff.
"Let me see it." He urged. I sighed and put the Jared's bag on the desk before taking that little black box out and opening it.
I showed it to him and he chuckled.
