"Are you sure we should walk? At night? In the dark?" I grasped his hand tightly and shortly glanced behind me.
He sighed. "I'm absolutely sure. You know we're fine, there are over a dozen armed men within one hundred feet of us right now. And there are a lot of other people out here, since it's practically newly evening. Plus, I'm licensed."
"Licensed? To carry a gun? Since when?" I slowed the walk and so did he.
"Since I first came to America. Everyone in my side of Manhattan owns a gun." I noticed how he said 'my side' and rolled my eyes with my head turned away.
"Because you guys have all the fancy expensive stuff and are more likely to get your shit broken into and stolen. So where are we going, my 6'3" sexy Spaniard?"
He processed what I called him and his ears turned a bright shade of red. "If I tell you, you're gonna make this big commotion about how weird and out of the blue it is. So I want to surprise you. It's just something I use to do before Monte L."
I raised my brows. That's like, when he was basically still a kid. Lucian went into business training when he was just thirteen, since he was handed the company at twenty. He spent seven years learning how to design, build, maintain finances and all of that. And he was actually interested. That also took a toll on his personality.
"Really? Just tell me, I won't bitch about it."
"Nope. I'd rather surprise you."

"Okay." She shrugged. After a minute, she shuddered and crossed her arms. I sighed and shook my head. "I told you before we left the building to grab a coat because it's chilly, and what did you say? 'I don't need one, I don't get cold easily', yada yada. Even if you are wearing a sweater, it's thin and you get cold easily."
"Well I didn't think it'd be this cold." She said meekly.
I sigh again, and remove my trench to put it around her shoulders. I, actually, didn't get cold as easy as she does, though she denies it. She hooked her arms around my arm and put her head to almost rest on my shoulder.
"Remember when I told you that you fucked up my Dean plans for this year?" She asked, her eyes fixated on the golden glowing festive lights ahead that sent the state into 'hey let's celebrate the holidays early' mode. I nodded and she grinned lightly.
"Well I think I fucked up your plans for this year too. You made a lot of promises that you broke just by being with me. You said you wouldn't sleep around especially with your PAs and you did exactly that. Well, not the sleeping around, I'd kill you for that. You also said the week that I quit that we'd always remain strict platonic friends. That was five months ago and now I'm about to marry you."
"Well it's your fault. You made me fall in love with you." I smiled, wrapping an arm around her very small waist.
"I guess so. And that also tells me that our relationship is moving incredibly fast. Five months of dating you, three months of being in love with you and we're already getting married? Five months is how long it takes for me to decide to have a fourth date with a guy."
"It takes you five months to go on a fourth date?! Well, we already knew each other and we were already friends and knew each other semi-well, and I was already interested. We didn't even do that stupid 'first date, second date, third date' crap. We just did whatever until we got serious. And now I know you better than anybody." I claimed, and she laughed as soon as it left my mouth.
