I got dressed for my parents' house while he brushed his teeth. After a few seconds, I heard him spit. "Look," he called, and I walked into the bathroom to see what he wanted. "You did that," he pointed to a hickey on his shoulder. "That," he pointed to another on his chest. "And that." He pointed to another on his abs.

I let out a small laugh. "Don't forget get that." I pointed to one on his neck. "Don't worry you can just say it's a birthmark."

"I don't think they'll believe that." He walked out of the bathroom and so did I. "I'm going to get dressed--are you going to wait downstairs?"

"Mhm." I nodded and he kissed my cheek before I left downstairs.

I went into the living room, calling my mom. She picked up, not even letting it ring once. "Hey, maman."

"Hey, Emi! I just talked to the boyfriend you never told me you had."

"I know, he told me. I only didn't tell you because I didn't want Logan, Ethan and Jake to know."

"They know, and let's just say they're anticipating your arrival."

"I'm not surprised. Hey, maman...are you okay?" I asked with a bit of sadness stinging my voice.

"I'm okay, ma chérie. The sickness isn't growing too fast and the treatments are going well. But don't worry about me! So, is it a nice and healthy relationship? Does he treat you well? Is he a good boyfriend? He seemed like a perfect gentleman on the phone." Right as she asked this, he came downstairs.

I stayed silent on account that she's trying to keep me from worrying about her. "The answer to the first question is yes, the answer to the second is yes. And he's an amazing boyfriend."

He smiled at me in a light grey fitted shirt with a pair of black fitted jeans and boots. Even in that he looked dressed up because of his diamond Rolex and rings. "Maman we're about to leave, I'll see you in a bit."

"Okay, bye."

I hung up and he opened the door for me on the way out. We went out of the building and he took me around the back of the building and into a garage. He turned on the lights and I wasn't surprised. "Of course you have a giant garage full of luxury cars."

He laughed. "Most are gifts. I want you to pick."

I looked around. There were two Rolls Royce Ghosts, a Bugatti, a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, a Cadillac XTS, a Volvo S90, and a Buick Encore that I guessed was for picking up family. "Uh, Bugatti."

"Great choice." He grinned.

We pulled up into the driveway, and I could see everyone already outside. My family spent more of their time outside than inside, my mom watered flowers and sat in her chair playing with Neo and Maya, my dad threw a baseball with Jake and Ethan, and Logan practiced basketball shots.

They all looked us, especially noticing the car. Lucian looked at me. "You look dreadful."

"I am dreadful. I don't want to go through this. But I want them to meet you, so let's go."

"Wait." He flicked down his expensive-brand sunglasses over his eyes and got out of the car, coming around to open my door. "You're the only one with green eyes?"
