Lucian came back just in time for his party to start, and a lot of family members poured into the house. Some were great grandparents that I was surprised were still alive, some were aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters in-laws, anything part of the family--you name it. Lucian had a ton of people taking turns to talk to him about me and people were awing at us and everything we did.

As he predicted, music blasted throughout the house and there were people dancing and partying, and suddenly it was the coolest birthday party I'd ever been to.

"Are you okay?" I asked, laughing at his 'I'm clearly not okay' exhausted expression.

"No. I told you, parties aren't really my thing." He said, as he led me by the hand through the crowd of people. He was wearing a white t-shirt that made every part of him even sexier, and joggers, which I'd never seen him wear. We went into the living room and he sighed, embracing the solitude with only me.

He sat on the couch and I sat beside him, but we were turned in our seats to face each other. His eyes looked beside me across the room and I followed his look. He was looking at the doorway breaking the barrier between the kitchen and living room. Mariana and Lucian's Aunt Elizabeth along with Abuela Anna were talking in front of the doorway.

Mariana looked at me and shooed her hands at me as if to tell me to do it. I shook my head. I can't do this. As if she read my mind, she mouthed 'you can do it, go for it'. I bit my lip with nervousness and turned my head back to Lucian.

"What's wrong?" He asked. "What did my mother do?" He asked, as if his mother is always up to something. She is.

"Uh, nothing. She's fine. Besides the crowd and that blasting music, are you having a good birthday?" I smiled, though it wasn't real because of what I had to do.

"It's better than others I've had." He said, and I nodded slowly, before receiving a message from his mom. I had both his parents' numbers.

Do it, Peyton. You can do it. - Boss mom

I looked back at him with a gulp. Before he could ask again what was wrong, I leaned forward and as soon as I knew our lips were about to collide, I closed my eyes and kissed him with shy force.

His lips were dead. He didn't respond, because he was in shock.

Then he raised a hand to place his hand at the side of my head and he kissed me back, which ignited fireworks in me. Fireworks that I hoped wouldn't be fireworks. He had one leg on the couch, and one off the couch, so I sat between his legs to get better stability and kiss him better. Why I did this, I don't know.

Our lips moved in sync, taking breaths at the same time. Something sparked in me. Something unidentifiable, yet I knew exactly what it was. I just chose to deny the feeling. His soft lips were kissing me with such flawlessness that it sent chills down my spine.

I think I liked it. And I think he liked it too. Maybe. This was so wrong.

I pulled away just a little, so that we were still touching each other and our faces were inches apart. He kept his eyes closed for a second, before opening them. "Peyton..." His voice came out in a whisper.

"I know. I'm sorry." My voice was soft and I was so wracked with anxiety that my voice quivered a little. I pulled away completely and stood up. Before he could say anything else, I walked out of the room and ran upstairs. So much for that.
