I had told Peyton to take another day off, only because I needed to clear my head alone about this Nina business. I began to think that Peyton was right. Nina's had over six years to tell me that she actually loved me. But she chose to hookup every time she saw me. And after all this time, she decides to be true about her feelings, expecting me to keep holding on. Expecting to just fall in love with her again.

I knew that I couldn't look at her face without remembering the real her. Who she was before she realized exactly how wealthy I was. The real her was who I fell in love with in the first place.

But she changed after that year. After we got engaged. And she threw me away and kept receiving the sexual and monetary benefits of being my future wife. Because of that, I broke things off. Emotionally. It took me years to cut off everything with her, but I did. And I was never happy again until my current wife-to-be.

I called her before I went home. I called Nina and told her what I told her the day we broke up. That I never wanted to see her again, talk to her again, or hear from her again. This time, I knew I meant it. She knew I meant it too. She told me that she understood, and that she was sorry and that she'd do exactly that and not contact me.

My chest felt heavy the entire way home. I didn't feel good, like I was sick to my stomach. I knew what I needed. And she was waiting for me at home.

I unlocked the door and walked into the silence of the apartment. I knew Johannes and Amos were never going to get their jobs done if she keeps sending them home all the time. I pulled myself upstairs and it was more silent than usual. So I went ahead and walked into the bedroom silently, just to find her asleep.

I set my things down and removed my tie as I undid a few buttons of my shirt and took off my shoes. I heard her stir, and I crawled onto the bed and threw my arm over her waist as I ducked down to kiss her temple.

She inhaled a deep breath and smiled sleepily. "Hey, you're home early." She turned toward me more and kissed me, just a short peck. "How was your day?"

"Fine," I lied just the slightest...a lot. "Actually, I just missed you. You've been gone for three months and I think you not being at the office the past couple of days makes the feeling weigh heavier. I just need you."

She sighed lightly and gave me another peck. She touched her hand to my cheek, her gentle smile complimenting her glowing emerald eyes. "Well I'm here. You look really tired. Hurry and get undressed." She pushed my shoulders.

I pouted and kissed her cheek before getting up to do what she said. Then I smirked. "Peyton, I'm really, really tired. Help me?"

She sat up and looked at me blankly. "I hope you don't actually think I'm that stupid. I'm not undressing you, you're a grown man."

"Yeah but you undress me every night." I winked.

"You have the biggest dirty mind I've ever encountered." She sighed, giving in anyways and coming over to unbutton my shirt.

Peyton James

He's lucky he's cute. I continued to unbutton his shirt and he took it off for me to lay it over the desk chair. I grasped his belt and and removed it, that's when he made the stupidest joke. "You know what else I've got that's the biggest thing you've ever encountered?" He changed into a pair of grey joggers.
