Some people are meant to FALL in love with each other but aren't meant to BE with each other....

*** whenever you see that just remember it's Russian for I love you. It will appear throughout this chapter. I included another video if you would like to watch it.***
Steve (POV) Somehow I knew that She wouldn't destroy the flash drive. Not yet anyway. And somehow I knew that she didn't want to be alone right now. After our talk I didn't see her for the rest of the day. But when might fell I allowed myself to give into temptation and I opened the the door to Natasha's room. I was greeted by her eyes. Filled up with tears. I could see some had already fallen. She was sitting on her bed, her laptop open. I didn't even have to look to see if the flash drive was plugged in because I already knew it was.
"Natasha." I stated with concern. She opens her mouth as if to say something but no words come out, just a sobbing choke. I rush over to her on the bed. I push the laptop away and hold her. Probably too close.

" You know I wasn't the only one." She manages to say. I allow myself one question "How many others?" She takes a deep breath before she speaks "28." She pauses before continuing "They didn't last very long though." She states, her voice trembling. "What do you mean?" I ask. "They." She starts shaking a little. "They made me kill each and every one of them." She finishes letting another tear roll down her cheek. I brush it away "I'm so sorry Nat." It's all I can say. " It's not your fault." She whispers. "I love you Natasha." I say as we both lay down on her bed.
She wraps her arms back around me. "I feel like I need to tell you about it." She says addressing her past. "You don't have to say anything." I reply honestly, knowing how hard it is for her to talk about her past. I know exactly how she feels.
"я люблю тебя." She says it just below a whisper.
Something that would be easy to miss. Barley audible. But I heard it. I've heard it before too. "я люблю тебя" She says it every now and then. Sometimes when she thinks I'm asleep other times when we talk she will mumble it under her breath. Little does she know I had to learn Russian for a mission a few years back. So I know exactly what it means when she whispers it. And I light up every time and try not to show my excitement.
It's become a regular thing now. Us sleeping together. Sometimes it's because of the nightmares but most times it's because we want to. Sometimes it will be Natasha who sneaks into my bed without making any noise in the middle of the night. Other times it's me who knocks on her door and asks if I could come in for a while. But I always end up staying the night. Either way we've grown used to it. And I can guarantee that my sleep has been 100 times more peaceful with her in my arms.
The nights when she's gone out on a mission or she stays at her apartment after hanging out with Clint are filled with restlessness. I toss and turn and end up going for long walks late in the night. My favorite thing is to wake up next to her. To see her messy red curls falling over her, covering her face. She's so beautiful. I could look at her for hours and never get bored. I treasure every moment with her. Not knowing if it will be my last or not. I hope she feels the same.
*** Sorry this chapters a bit short but I really wanted to address how damaged Natasha is from the red room. And I wanted to show how much Steve cares about her. Next will be Natasha's turn.*** I will try tiger at least five more chapters up today but if I don't post for a while it's because I'm ready other fanfics to get inspiration.***
