** I decided to dedicate a chapter to Steggy because they deserve it. I came up with this a while ago and knew I had to put it in this book. Enjoy. Please leave reviews.Oh btw for the sake of the book I'm saying Peggy dies before civil war and I'm also picking a random day.**

Natasha (POV)
This first part is from authors view:

It was 2017. May. The 28th. Natasha had been preparing all year for this. She knew how much this woman meant to him. And she knew this day over all other days would be the hardest for Steve Rogers. It had now officially been a year since Peggy's death.

Despite their usually patterns, Steve didn't stay in Natasha's bed that night or her in his. Instead Steve came up with some excuse like " running out of clothes" or something like that. Natasha couldn't quite remember. All she could think about was how Steve probably felt right now.

She craved to be near him. But she knew he would need his space. She wanted to take away the pain. If given the chance she would carry his pain as well as her own. But that not how life worked. So instead she settled for making sure no one bothered Steve today. When she had finished working out, showering, and changing she headed to the main floor. She didn't see Steve around anywhere. As if he read her mind Jarvis called out " Captain Rogers had left earlier then usual this morning. If I am correct he should already be at S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters."

Natasha:
"Thank you Jarvis." I said as I headed over to the coffee machine. Tony came out of the elevator just as I started the brew. " Oh red good you're up. Make me a cup too would you?." Tony called out. I saw the huge bags under his eyes from nights of no sleep. I felt bad for him. He seems to get the least sleep out of all of us. "Can't you get one of your machines to do it?" I ask, teasing him. "My automatic voice enabled coffee machine is in the works right now." He says teasing me back. "Well then I guess I have no choice then except to make you one." I say as Tony heads to his room to get ready.

Tony offers me a ride to work and we sip our coffees on the way. I'm surprised when he asked for cream and sugar instead of the strongest stuff: pure black coffee. The way I like mine. Except of course when Steve makes it. I don't know how he does it but he makes the perfect blend of cream and sugar. When we arrive at headquarters Steve is no where to be found. Then I see Clint walk up to me. He pulls me aside. "Hey Nat." He whispers. "Steve took up an extra training session for the newbies. Any idea why?" Clint is the only one who really knows about Steve and I.

The others don't care enough to notice. Not that they wouldn't be happy for us. But they, like us, have work to do. "It's the day Peggy.." I start not knowing the nicest way to put it. But he understands. "Oh right. I'll make sure no one trouble him." Clint assures as he turns to leave. I grab his wrist before he's gone. He turns at me expectingly. "Thank you Clint." He gives me a smile and heads off.

By the time I see Steve, it's late in the afternoon. But when I do, I take my opportunity to check on him. "Steve, are you doing okay?" I jog up to him, half expecting his eyes to tear up. But instead he grants me a smile and says "Just fine Romanoff." He then walks off to whatever place he can go to to avoid us. I want to call him back to me. To kiss him. But we decided to keep our relationship on the down low at work. So I'm left standing in the hallway like an idiot.

The next time I see him is at the tower after work. I'm sitting on the couch on the main floor with the other guys when Steve walks in. And right when he does Tony calls to him "Hey Rogers why don't you come play a round and have some beers with us?" It was less of a question and more of an order.

The boys were playing pool and drinking on the far side of the room. "Thanks but I'll take a rain check." Steve politely declined. I sit up a little, sensing something is about to go wrong. And that's when Tony says it " Come on Rogers one beer won't hurt your golden boy reputation. Why don't you just loosen up a little for once?"
