                           Natasha and Steve POV)
"This isn't a good idea Tasha." Clint alleged, clearly concerned. "You never think anything is a good idea." I retort, not looking up from the radio signal.

We finally traced Steves phone which was hard because it looks like someone put it a lot of effort to make it as difficult as possible. "Natasha you know this is a trap." Clint added, still serious. I turn and grin at him " I'm used to traps. I walked right into one when I fell for Rogers. And now I'm stuck." I laugh, trying to make light of the situation. It's the only way I can get through this.
Clint sighs. "I still don't think it's a good idea.

Eventually, We arrive at an abandoned building. When we enter we take out about 5 agents. Clint goes left and I go right . There seems to be thousands of doors. Any one of them could be the one holding Steve. I know I seemed confident on the plane but I'm terrified. What if they brainwashed him? What if he isn't even here? What if I'm too late? I try to wipe the bad thoughts from my brain as I frantically open and close doors, taking out anyone in my way.

There are two doors left when I come to face with one of the two people we found out were the leaders. I immediately throw my legs on either side of his neck and forcefully toss his body over mine. He recovers quickly. He throws a few punches at me. I block most but one lands on my jaw. I take half a step back from the impact. I touch the blood on my jaw line. "You shouldn't have done that." I growl. "What're you going to do sweetheart?" He quickly throws another punch.

Any other person wouldn't have been able to block it. And he looks surprised when I do. With graceful speed I twist his arm, dislocating it. He winces in pain as I jump on his shoulders and being in choking him. Then I spot the female leader running at us. She is trying to shoot me. She is good but not good enough. Dodging her bullets on the way I stand on the mans shoulders as he gasps for air. In order to easily dodge more bullets I do an aerial off his shoulders.

The next moments go by in whirl. While I'm upside down, the sound of two gun shouts is evident. I ready myself for the pain yet it doesn't come. Instead, I realize she shot her partner.

I land and watch him stagger backwards before collapsing to the floor, his fresh blood already creating a puddle on the concrete floor.

"No!" She screams, running over to him. Not even bothering trying to stop me. Only two doors I think to myself.

Steve:
I hear rushed footsteps. Then gunshots. And then I hear her calling my name. "Steve!" She shouts repeatedly. She is close now. I want to scream for her to stop but due to the gag in my mouth I can't. I take a glance at the gun to my left. And I do the only thing I can think of. Only one thing is going through my head.

I have to save her.

The pain is devastating as I, inch by inch, scoot my chair. I'm going as fast as I can. But me plus the chairs weight, it isn't moving very far or quickly. Again I hear footsteps. This time it sounds as if they are right outside my door. I chug the chair along frantic and full of fear as my eyes tear up. The sound of a door opening makes me fasten my pace.

It comes out as a mumble because of the gag but I can't help but scream "No!"

Natasha:
I open the second to last door. And...

To my dissatisfaction Steve isn't there. Except now I hear something. The sound of metal clinking. As if someone is sliding and banging a metal chair on the ground. I sense it's coming from the next door and I sprint towards it. I have my hand on the door handle now. I think I can almost hear whimpers.

Steve:
To my relief I have a few more seconds before she gets here. I give it everything I have. With my injuries making it supremely difficult. I see the door nob turning. I can't help but let out whimpers as I near the gun.The door opens. "No" The scream echoes but I can't tell if it was mine or not.

Author(POV)

Natasha opens the door and just as promised the gun fires.
She watches in horror as she sees Steve, still chained to a chair, take the bullet for her. For a second, just a second, Steve can hear the bullet tear through just above his heart. He catches a glimpse of Natasha who is running towards him. She quickly gets a tool from her belt and goes to work on the chain, as tears steadily flow down her face. She breaks the chain and desperately unties him. With nothing there to support him he falls forward.

She catches him and holds him desperately in her arms. "Hey stay with me Steve!" She pleads. "Stay with me." His eyes slowly start to close, his body weakening further. "Stay with me Rogers!" She almost yells as Clint and the fellow SHIELD agents gather up at the door.

"We need to get him out of here and get him medical treatment fast. He's going quickly!" She screams at no one in particular. Two soldiers rush over and grab Steve, who's eyes are completely closed now, from Natasha's arms and carry him out. She looks down at her hands which are slick with blood.

His blood.
Clint is walking towards her saying something. Maybe yelling. His lips continue moving but she doesn't listen. She can't focus. She can only think of thing "This is wrong."
Is this actually happening?

Is Steve dying?
