Ana's POV
We were sitting in the dark and I had grabbed onto his hand. I was staring at the screen but in all honesty I have no idea what the movie is even about.
Matt leant over and put his lips next to my ear "Do you want any of this?" he whispered holding the popcorn.
I got goosebumps.
Did I want any? My dilemma, if I took it I would have to let go of his hands, and I really didn't want to, but popcorn......
I let go of his hand and grabbed it but instead of pulling his hand back he rested it on my leg.
I shoved a handful of popcorn in my mouth but I could not concentrate on the movie, it was impossible.
I ate more then put it down, now it was my turn to put my lips to his ear. "Drink?" I whispered.
He handed me the drink, I had some and put it down then I grabbed his hand again, I squeezed it, he squeezed back.
I spent the rest of the movie sitting there completely aware of how close he was.
The lights came on too soon.
I sat there, I didn't want to let go of his hand, but he stood up.
"Ready?" he asked.
I got up and followed him out.
"What do you want to do now?" he asked me.
I shrugged, I did not care as long as I was with him.
I pulled my phone out to turn the volume back up.
I had 12 missed calls from Lilah.
"Oh no." I said.
"What?" Matt asked.
"Hang on." I told him looking at my text messages.
It went bad
I'm coming over
Damn.
"Can you take me home, Lilah has a problem, I'll explain in the car."
"Sure." he said and I thought I saw disappointment on his face.
Well I hoped I did.
We started walking to the car and he grabbed my hand.
I wasn't going to lie, I was disappointed that Lilah needed me, but I promised I would be there for her.
"So?" Matt asked as we drove home.
So I explained the situation to him "But please don't say anything."
"I won't it's ok." he assured me but he looked shocked at what I'd told him.
We pulled into my drive too soon and I really didn't want to get out of the car, but I could see Lilah sitting on my porch.
"Do you want to come in?" I asked.
"Nah, I'll leave you to deal with this." he said.
"Well ok then...um thanks." I said and climbed out of the car.
I was disappointed in how this was ending.
"Hey, I'll call later." he said.
I smiled and nodded, I certainly hoped he would.
I watched him drive away then walked up to Lilah, she'd been crying.
"Sorry to interrupt," she said "but it was horrible Ana."
"Come on." I said unlocking the door, as usual I had no idea where Josh was.
"He asked me if it was his." she said bursting into tears.
I hugged her.
"And you never told me you and Jake were engaged." she cried.
"That's because we're not silly." I told her.
"Good, you deserve someone better."
Yes I did....I'd hoped it was Matt.
