Chapter 22 : Just A Precaution

Raina didn't take our news very well.

I had changed and met Edward outside. He was on a call regarding business,'Yes I know. But we have enough of shareholders so... no, refuse the offer no matter what the price is. I refuse to pay.... it's only a few thousands. Just tell Ronaldo to take care of it.... yes , I know.... I know.... I did.... okay then, bye'

'Everything okay?', I asked out of curiosity and worry. Edward's eyebrows were furrowed together. That's normally not a good sign. I picked that up in my days of being his assistant.

'Oh yeah', he eyes me and cools down a bit,'You look nice'

'Yeah, count on you to bring me revealing clothes'

'It was yours!', he whined.

'Yeah well I normally wear one piece of this with everything else covered. You bought me all of it revealing', I hissed.

He pulled me by the waist and kissed me,'You still look hot so it's alright'

I sigh,'let's head for breakfast. And by the way, are we telling them?'

'Them? Tell? Who what?'

'My brother, the siblings, your grandfather... I'm sure they'd approve', I say and he shrugs. He walks harmonically with my pace and digs his hands in his short's pockets at each side.

'I'm sure Raina would be quite thrilled', I say. Man, that's some hardcore sarcasm right there!

I'm such a nine year old.

'Yeah well... everyone besides her', he added; an edge of fear embedded In his now quavering voice.

'I'm sorry, what did you say my dear?', Leonard asks me.

'Me and Edward are together', I repeat to him for the thousandth time. I can feel Edward fidgeting near me as his eyes landed on a glowering Raina.

He sat next to me opposite her. I guess it was a safety precaution. Just a precaution.

Even I didn't want to be near Raina. Her stare was intense and it laid on me thickly. When Edward held my hand with his; her glare became as sharp as a knife that it almost hurt.

The atmosphere was thick with mixed emotions. Everyone felt restrained from speaking their honest minds. Everyone except adamant Princess Raina.

'You were nothing', she told me from across the table,'Absolutely nothing. But here you are, with absolutely everything. I'd wipe that smile off your face if I were you because Edward will never be yours. When he realizes what a mistake you've been, he'll come back to me'

She got up and stormed off,'Florénce! Get me a flight to leave this bloody place!'

Poor Florénce.

Leonard coughed,'I guess it's fine to say now that I don't like that Raina girl. But you're a fine man Derick. As much as I'm delighted of Edward and Elena, I'm surprised. I really thought you both were hitting it off'

Derick blushed,'Yeah well. I just have complicated reasons'

Leonard nodded and turned to us,'I'll be sure to tell Rupert the news first thing after I eat'
