Seek And Destroy [COMPLETED]

Chapter 26 : Flashes.

Edward didn't know his ways about the castle's secret pathways. We had to steal the map which Oliver had made and kept in his room.

Oliver; the mischief maker. Of course he'd have the map. Even though he's probably haunting the hallways now with his barely there presence.

Edward and I got out unharmed from a secret back gate.

We let out a sigh as we both push close a brick wall that was once a door. I began panting,'That was a long way out'

'Tell me about it', he laughed and pulled me close by the waist,'Still worth it though... some private time with you...'

'Edward. Darling. If you wanted sex then we could have just stayed in the castle', I pushed him away and laughed my guts out,'I won't do it out here'

He bit his lip,'True. Let's go back in'

I looked at him as if he'd gone mad. But of course, the only thing he wore was his stupid seductive famous grin.

'I'm just joking', he said and I hit him on the shoulder,'Ouch! That hurt okay!'

'You deserved it you pervert', I muttered.

'Now now. I may be a pervert. But I'm you're pervert', he shushed me.

I looked up at him and smiled sheepishly,'Of course'.

We decided to go to McDonalds. I reluctantly agreed. I still felt as if I should be there. At least I'm wearing some sort of a disguise. That fact made me feel better.

We hailed a cab and were soon dropped off the front steps of the small building that was McDonalds. Edward paid the cab without even asking how much. I think he payed a hundred dollars. The cabbie just looked at his ignorant face but didn't say anything. He just smiled, greeted us a good day and drove on.

'You paid him too much. That's a lot of money just for a cab ride!', I gasped.

'Huh, that bit is like one percent of one percent of once percent of one percent of what we have', Edward boasted.

'Wow, brag that you're rich much?', I mumbled irritatedly.

He laughed and pulled me by the waist so I clinged on to his side,'Yeah but you're richer than me'

I looked at him with a puzzled face. He notices this and chuckles,'Derentia is more wealthier than here. They offer lots of produce and anything involving natural resources. Us, Grayson City or even Grayson Peak trade limited items. Mostly clothing'

'Oh', was all I said and he laughed.

We climbed the steps and entered the long queue there was to the cashier.

'It's a busy day', I commented.

Edward nodded. I suddenly felt frightened of the many people in the shop. I got aware of their scanning eyes. I was scared of being recognized.

Edward noticing my sudden uneasiness, tightened the grip his hand had over my waist. Pulling me to a protective pose.

People noticed this small gesture of protection and stared at us. I began sweating. I see a little girl probably fine with a yellow coat look at me intently and whisper something to the man next to her which was probably her father.

The man looked up at us and his eyes widened,'It's the royal couple!' He shouted, pointing at us.

I suddenly felt tense as the people reacted to the sudden declaration. They started searching at the crowd in which the little girl's father had pointed earlier; all eagerly wanting to see the couple.

I felt Edward stiffen,'Come on. Follow me!', he silently whispered.

We ducked under the crowd which had now noticed us and ran through the doors till we were on the streets.

I can hear the people running after us; phones up and flashlights heard.

Great, this would be all over the news by tomorrow. I can even read the title ' Princess & Prince ; Burger addicts?'

I suddenly felt really irritated and pulled Edward to a faster sprint. He couldn't keep up and started to stumble at times so I pulled him to multiple roads and slowed down. I hope they won't find us now. I think I lost them.

I think I made us lost as well.

*Edward's View*

We were completely and utterly lost in a deserted dead end. The brick wall behind us smiled at us mockingly just to prove the point.

I looked at Elena and was almost ready to bark at her for going so fast and making us lost. But looking at her already frightened face; I calmed down.

She just did that to lose them. She never meant any harm.

I managed to lead us to a main road and hailed a cab. I told him to drive to Nandos. I couldn't tell him directly to drive us to the castle now could I? Nandos was the closest shop I knew was close to the Palace.

The driver squinted his eyes at us but all the same, drove on. I guess he didn't recognize us.

I look at Elena; pressed against the car door, I realize how frightened and guilty she must have felt.

I reached out and squeezed her hand. She looked up at me and smiled reassuringly.

We reached Nandos in a matter of minutes.

I got down and paid the cabbie a bunch of money but him being a kind one refused saying,'This is two hundred and twenty dollars. No sir. Five are fine'

I smiled at him,'in that case, take ten'

He reluctantly agreed and took the money.

I looked back to see Elena smiling at the small gesture of doubling his pay. She really was one of a kind. I never would have even thought of giving the driver a penny more than his amount. But after meeting Elena, I tended to be a bit more reasoning and generous. I was becoming a noticed considerate.

And it was all thanks to that one crazy woman that was Elena.

I mean, damn, she could run fast. She got us lost in a matter of seconds from over speeding too much to even recognize the turns she lead us in to!

At least I'm dating a naturally fit girl and not a plastic surgery one like Raina.
