Chapter 40 : The Day Before The Wedding.

'All done', Alice tells me as we enter the spa,'Today, we're just going to relax'

'And how may I help-', the attendant looked at me and quickly brushes her clothes down,'Your highness, How can I assist you in any way?'

'Veronica, I used to be a regular here before I became a princess. Feel free to treat me the same', I chuckle.

Well, technically, Alice is a regular here. I just tended to tag along and read a magazine while she gets whatever she wants done.

Veronica was the attendant who always took care of Alice. She was a sweet girl. She had a fair complexion and long wavy black hair.

Her cheeks flushed,'Of course... Elena'

She straightened her posture and looked at Alice,'The usual? Manicure and facial?'

'Yes and a haircut', Alice replies ,'Oh and Elena would be joining too. She decided to decline the royal masseuse and came here as it is the day before her wedding. She needs a full cleanup. Manicure, pedicure, if needed, a trim, facials, scrubs. Everything you got'

Veronica looked at my hair,'May I?'

I nodded. She held my hair and examined the strands,'No haircut needed. Perhaps we could shape your eyebrows and a wax is definitely needed for the arms and legs. I suppose, armpit too'

I blushed and whispered,'Okay'

It's true, I've never felt comfortable to go shopping and to the spa like other girls. I hated going to shop for my bras and panties. I feel crazy self conscious.

And the fact that I hated attendants following me was still there. Veronica was okay, she was like a friend but still, she had no hesitation in saying armpits and everything.

I mean, she's a girl. We can talk about this stuff but I still feel nervous. I normally tended to shy away and melt into the background as Veronica attended and conversed with Alice; barely bringing any attention to myself.

But now, I was the main client. I can't sink into the background. I'd have to brace myself for things I've been avoiding since my arrival at the city.

'Let's start with the waxing', Veronica said and saw my scared face and reassured me,'It won't hurt. You don't seem to hair much hair. Barely noticeable so it won't hurt'

I nodded and gulped when I saw another attendant strip off a wax strip at someone else's leg. She shrieked.

Veronica reassured me again by whispering,'She was hairy. It hurts for hairy people only' and winced when she heard the woman shout again.

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt.

I mean it did, but barely. It hurts for only a second. We finished waxing then they did all my facials and rubbed goo all over my body.

They scrubbed me clean in a huge bath tub. That was difficult for me because I had to strip down and they were going to scrub my whole body.

Then they washed my hair and dried it and then plucked my eyebrows. At the end of the day, I got treated with massages that soothed myself and then got scrubbed again to remove any oil.

They don't normally do this for everyone but since I was a royal....

Me and Alice finally left the spa. Alice beaming and me feeling like a plucked chicken.

'I don't want to go through that again Alice. Please don't let me do that again. Please. I beg you. I'll buy you a Louise Vuitton bag if you stop it', I tell her as we get in the royal black limousine. The driver was already in. Edward had told him to drive us to all our destinations today with no faulty.
