Chapter 38 : A Royal Extension.

*Edward's Pov*

'It's a boy', the doctor had said. It's a boy.

I looked at Elena with no expression whatsoever. Normally, people would feel mad to get babies before the marriage.

The doctor bid us a silent reply before he leaves the room, letting us be alone again.

Elena starts to tear,'Edward... you don't have to stay'

Her words took me by surprise. I rolled my eyes,'What does that mean?'

'I've seen enough cheesy stupid movies and read enough books that the boyfriend or fiancé leaves the girl when he finds out he impregnates her before the marriage, not wanting to be a father', she said, all too fast. I was lucky to understand it.

I almost laughed,'Elena, I'm not leaving you and besides, like I said, you watch too many movies and read too many books'

She sniffs her nose,'You're not going to leave me?'

'Never', I kiss her forehead and wipes her tears,'I'll be with you till my dying breath. Remember that'

She smiles. Then it finally hit me and I get up suddenly,'Holy fucking shit, I'm pregnant! I mean, you're pregnant. I'm going to be a mama! Sorry, you're mama, I'm dada. Oh my god'

She chuckles,'Calm down. What you should be thinking is how we reveal this to our family'

Oh shit.

*Elena's View*

Two days later...

I was discharged and I stood in front of everyone in the ballroom. I hadn't even told Alice yet. Me and Edward promised each other that we would keep this a secret till we tell everyone altogether.

'I'm pregnant', I blurt out.

Everyone stopped their chattering and looked at me and Edward. I wanted to run away. The tension was so... well, tense.

'I'm sorry Elena, I didn't catch that', Anastasia said.

'She's pregnant mum', Edward tells nervously. His hands were starting to sweat in mine. Who knew that he could be as nervous as I was?

The silence was suddenly broke. By everyone shrieking and laughing and dancing.

'OH MY GOD, I'M GOING TO BE A GODMOTHER!', Alice shrieked.

'AND WE, GODFATHERS', Derick and Oliver shouted together.

'And I'll be a great grandpa... I'm getting too old', Leonard mutters but then starts to join in laughing,'I'm a great grandpa!'

Rupert and Anastasia walked over to us and pulled us into hugs. Anastasia beamed,'You're making me old Edward. Making me a grandmother'

'Yeah, and me a grandfather... so any news to what gender the little kid is?', Rupert asked.

'It's a boy', me and Edward said together, almost robotically.

'Even better! An heir to the throne!', Rupert beamed.

'You do realize we'd have to shift the marriage date sooner? Do it before the baby bump comes?', Alice said.

'Oh yes! Come on Elena! You too Alice. We got to prepare... what curtain... what chair... what cake!', Anastasia pressured herself as she grabbed me and Alice.

I only had time to look back at Edward to mouth help me when he was saying the same thing as all the men crowded around him.

'Oh my god. Your future mother-in-law is a freaking machine!', Alice whispered to my ear as we finally sat down on my bed.

It was two in the morning and I told me and Alice wanted to share the same room for the night. Edward reluctantly agreed.

We had almost finished half of the decor decisions today. We were tired and our bones ached with fatigue.

'I know right', I say when a text buzzes in my phone. I looked at it; squinting at the bright screen light till I could read it.

Wedding is next week! Get up at six in the morning. Wake Alice too -Stacy.

'Are you freaking kidding me?', Alice says as she read it over my shoulder. She grunts,'No way'

I let out a week smile,'For your bestest friend in the whole world?'

'First of all, bestest isn't a word and second of all', she glares at me before she grins,'Of course. Anything for you my little sugar drop'

She pauses and then continues,'Besides, everything will be all over after next week...'

I only managed to nod back at her as a reply before I slumped back on the pillows, immediately pulled into the world of dreamless sleep.
