*Edward's View*

'Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no. Oh freaking stinking Odin's beard no', I curse to myself as I pushed open the doors to the hospital wide open.

I ran, and ran, and ran, I clicked the Elevator's button and waited till it descended.

Oh fucking no. I can't believe what I had just heard from the phone. Elena please be okay.

I looked at my watch and cursed myself . In a desperate attempt, I scanned my surroundings till I came upon the staircase. The creepy old deserted never used staircase.

I might be exaggerating on that, but Elena's room is ten floors up....

It didn't matter, I grabbed the railings and sprinted upstairs; three steps at a time till I reached the floor; adrenaline pulsing through my veins.

I found room 403 in which Elena was residing and waiting for me.

I kicked open the door in a dramatic way and entered the room; out of breath.

That's when I heard the baby cries.

'Edward', Elena beamed weakly from her bed. A bundle of blankets in her arms. I cautiously moved towards her and eyed the bundle.

A beautiful healthy baby boy cried there; eyes already wide open and curious.

I covered my mouth with the back of my hand and stifled a sob. I reached out and slowly took the baby,'and his name?'

'We've already decided long ago didn't we Ed? You know our son's name', Elena chuckled weakly.

I finally noticed the people around us. The doctors. The nurses. My parents. Oliver. Derick. Alice. Hell, even Saphira was there, curled up into a fuzzball in Alice's hands.

I looked at Elena and then smiled down at the baby,'Yes. Our little Ray.'

'The ray of sunshine in our life', Elena sighs as she reached out and plays with the baby with her fingers.

'Yes', I reply; feeling inexplicably happy,'Our ray of sunshine'

There was no feeling that could replace this type of love he felt. The love he felt for his own flesh and blood. His own child.

The love of a father.

Is something no one could ever damage.
