It has been two days since I last talked to Collin. The twins birthday was coming up closer and closer. Everything was just so stressful.
Even, ever since I fought with Collin, I felt guilt. I know I shouldn't have yelled at him. How
could I expect all of this from him. Collin doesn't know all about being a king...
I paced the floor of the meeting room. Less than a week till the party and two months until the betrothal.
I walked over and pulled the string that set off a bell. Instantly Lillian came in, bowing to me.
"Hello your Majesty. What is it you need?" She asked.
"Could you get Collin to come, but please don't say I requested him. If he knows it's me I feel like he won't come." I say sighing.
"No worries, I'll be back."I sat there in silence until the door opened again. Collin had his back to me. When he turned his head was down.
"You want to apologize i—" He stopped short when his head came up and met my eyes.
"Collin." I say softly.
"Mother." He says calmly.
"I'm sorry. Please sit so I can explain." I say. He nods and sits across from me at the big table in he middle. It was quiet. All you heard was the birds chirping outside.
I took a deep breathe, "Collin.." He looked up at me. "I don't know why I thought you were so ready. Right now I don't even know what I'm doing." I force out a small laugh.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm rushing you into it. Being king and all." I reply, coming so close to shedding tears.
Collin puts a hand on top of mine resting on the table. "Mom, you are the greatest mom ever. It's hard and I'm sorry for blowing up. This is all so much."
I nod agreeing, "I know, but I'll try and do things a little slower for you. But, we do have to start shortly after Adrianna and Isabella's sweet sixteenth..."
He nods, "Of course..."
I stand up and he does the same. We embrace in a hug. I don't remember the last time I hugged him. It must have been years ago...
"Than—"
The door burst open and chef Lewis appears. He quickly bows, "I'm sorry, but we need to start the decorations preparation."
I smile at Collin and he nods knowing it was his cue to leave. "Right of course, meet me and the rest of you in the dining area."
"Yes your majesty." Lewis says before scurrying off.
I walk out of the room and head for the stairs. Where I'd surely find Isabella and Adrianna. At the snap of my fingers, Lillian was at my side following along.
"What do we have already down?" I ask.
Lillian check her clip board, "I have food preparations on this one. Nora has the other."
I turn my head to her, "Where is Nora?"
"I believe out with Mason in the garden..." I nod in response, stopping as we reach Adrianna's room. Lillian quickly knocks. The door opens a few seconds later, revealing my daughter.
"Oh hello.." Adrianna says.
"We need you for the decorations." I say. She gives me a confused look. "It's both of yours sweet sixteenth, you're planning it." I explain.
"Oh, do you want me to get Isabella?" Adrianna asks. I nod and she steps out of her room. "I'll go get her."
~*~"No they flowers should hang from the railings!" A voice exclaimed.
"It should be in the garden..." Another voice called.
"That's too small!" My maid, Lillian exclaimed.
I stood up and everyone stopped talking. "That's enough." My eyes drift over to my daughters and I smile.
"Everyone go except for Princess Isabella, Princess Adrianna and Lillian." I say. The servants leave, making the room almost seem empty.
"That went..." Isabella trailed off.
"Not well." Adrianna finished.
I nod in agreement, "Alright now, tell me your ideas."
They look at each other the back to me. "Well we were think we should have giant tents with fairy lights." Isabella says.
"And the food in a circle in the middle. With, music throughout the tents in the back of the castle..." Adrianna adds.
Lillian clasps her hands together, "That sounds wonderful!" My daughters beam at Lillian's comment.
"What kind of tables?" Lillian asks.
"Probably like three round ones through each tent..." Izze says, smiling.
"How about with those light blue leather wooden seats we have?" I ask. They both nod.
This would be good. A good party for them, the kingdom and Collin when he meets our options for the betrothal.
~*~"I could say that is a wrap and we have mainly everything ready for the party!" Lillian exclaims rather proud.
Yes indeed.. I think to myself, yes indeed.
